status quos 1997 2 cd set of greatest hits ! there all here from the early hits in the 60s, through the rock laden 70's through to the pop 80's and the dire covers of the 90's the classic british rock band - what you see is what you get with quo ! down to earth good honest rocking lads ! status quo are often poked fun at for sounding the same but this 2 cd set should at least show some of the difference in their songs, compare pictures of matchstick men to down down then comapre them both to margurita time or restless ? hardly the same style but distinctivly have the quo sound, this is where quo are like no other band .... ... “Whatever You Want”: The Very Best of Status Quo. I don't care what anyone thinks: I like Status Quo. Well, I like SOME of Status Quo. Probably nothing they’ve done for the last 15 years, but that still leaves 20 years of solid unpretentious music to choose from, even if (yes, I admit it) a lot of it does sound the same. True, “Down, Down” and “What You’re Proposing” probably wouldn't make it onto the list I took onto Desert Island Discs if by some mischance I ever appeared on it, but I’d be sorry if I never heard them again, or some of the other songs on disc one of this double-CD set.
