Premium Review "Once more with feeling" (238 words)
by cswann - written on 01/09/00 (Very useful, 55 readings)
Rating:

Yes, she does sound like Tracey Chapman, but it's more a case of Tracey Chapman sounds like Joan Armatrading , as she came along over 10 years after this album was released. This is Armatrading's third album, and her best - it's also the one that brought her mainstream attention. Rating:

I first heard Joan Armatrading over the loudspeakers while I was shopping in the supermarket, she was singing 'Love and Affection' although I didn't know the song at that time. I heard it on the radio a few times and was spellbound by the voice and how she sang the song but somehow each time I missed the name of the ...

Square The Circle - Joan Armatrading

Premium Review One for Phil Collins fans? (155 words)
by cswann - written on 01/09/00 (Very useful, 21 readings)

found commercial success, Joan Armatrading has continued to tour, and release quality albums. This is not the best of them, though. I think she's great, but on this album there are several songs that I really don't like. Some songs are repetitive, and overlong. The drum sound seems heavier than on previous ...
