Advantages: Great songs

Disadvantages: Never been able to better it

This is the album that Oasis have failed to live up to with every subsequent album release that they have done since and for me it represents their best work by a long way, it has some great songs on it and a couple of legendary anthems that means it is one that I still listen to every so often and has a reserved place on my i pod.

Oasis are fronted by Noel and Liam Gallagher and it is the angry Manchester voice of Liam that dominates the lyrics on this album. He has a strong distinctive voice with a good range and whether it is belting out the fast paced lyrics of Roll with It or lamenting a love that has been lost in the anthem that is Wonderwall he brings his own quality o the songs. The band are a simple rock band, lots of guitar and drum sounds and a strong influence of the Beatles and to a lesser sense the Rolling Stones.

Wonderwall is the stand out song and it can also work well as an acoustic number, my other favourites off this album are Champagne Supernova which is a strong final track and the rather quirky She's Electric which has some sarcastic lines in it and a certain amount of humour.

This is a top album and one I highly recommend as it stands the test of time.

Summary: Classic Oasis album

This is the last Oasis thing I took any notice of, even if they do have Ride's old guitarist on bass!
