... Seafood formed due to an advert in Loot freeads for a flat. The lead singer David Line and guitarist Charles Macleod needed a couple of flat mates, along with a female bass player and a drummer. Instead they got the opposite, a female drummer (Caroline) and male Bass player (Kevin). So the band was formed and the room filled and from there Seafood launched their bid for musical success. The album was recorded in New York under the watchful eye of Girls Against Boys producer Eli Janney and was recorded in just 4 w...more

It was during my second visit to Reading Festival that I first came across Seafood. They were quite a way down the bill on the Sunday in 2001 on the Radio 1 stage so we decided to head in there and see them. I hadn’t heard of them at all before hand, but afterwards I was incredibly impressed by what I’d just heard. So after the festival, in fact I think the very next day, I went into MVC and picked up a copy of this, their second album. I’ve since bought the previous album, Surviving The Quiet and the follow up As The Cry Flows. I still maintain that this is the South London bands best album to date. Surviving The Quiet established them a toe hold on the ...  Read the complete review

Ever since i heard 'Led By Bison' by Seafood, i had them pigeon holed as a nice little indie band who do pleasant little ditties about life, etc. Then i heard 'Cloaking'. Wow! what a departure!! having more to do with lo-fi US alt. rock like Black Flag, Weezer and Sebadoh to name but a few, 'When Do We Start Fighting...' is a piece of work! I saw them at the leeds festival too- they were class, even though the bass amp broke down mid set! anyways, the album is totally brilliant and rocks out, with even a hint of Radiohead- esque experimentation (don't worry Radiohead haters, this album certaintly isn't Amnesiac or Kid A). Right, i ...  Read the complete review

Wonderful vocal range, guitars are spot-on the band could have written more than two songs, but tharts about it

Classic tracks each one great in its own way.

They have an excellent vocalist, They have a 'fat wreck chords' sound They have a 'fat wreck chords' soundMight have to be imported, so you'll be ripped off in the high street

original, non-compliant, not over-elaborate too mellow for some?

It's obvious big things are to come. Not quite as great as it was made out to be,

A refreshing album, competely different, Epic and ambitious, Silverchair fans can see how Daniel Johns has grown up and moved on from his depression Heavier songs don't fit and aren't that goodLyrics are sometimes a little strange
