Following the success of their debut album, Anaal Nathrakh spent the next couple of years throwing out new material in the form of demo compilations and this impressive E.P., perhaps trying to avoid committing to a difficult second album. There need have been no worries at this stage for the Birmingham black metal duo, as the elaborately titled 'When Fire Rains Down From the Sky, Mankind Will Reap as it Has Sown' is an impressive continuation and development of their sound, and a pleasing step beyond 'The Codex Necro.' Such wide ranging styles as is shown in the musci will repell more people than Nu-metal ususally does. Fresh blood revitalises a great band. Pales in comparison to other releases. Great sounds To much swearing. Perfect blending of the finest elements from the previous albums. Still doesn't really move forwards, and industrial edge is more irritating than ever.
