It's an album you can return to time and again and still feel like you're hearing it for the first time.
It begins with Mr Wyngarde ushering the - female - listener into his home, taking her coat, sniffing her perfume. There's obviously only one thing on his mind, but he knows how to play it smooth. It's increasingly a struggle to find anything that will sate my jaded musical palate. Unfortunately, most modern music bores me. I've found myself plunging ever deeper into the grimy world of 60s Italian horror soundtracks. Which means that my music tastes and my film tastes are becoming interchangeable. This is not a good thing. So it's nice to rewind a few years and revisit an old favourite once in a while. My main musical interest five or six years ago was novelty songs from decades gone by.
