Advantages: Very talented person who creates wonderful songs.
Disadvantages: Nothing.
A friend who shared similar musical tastes recommended me this artist. Thinking I had nothing to lose (other than a few pounds!) I purchased her latest album. It was a decision I am very pleased to have made. When the Pawn... is the long awaited album from Fiona Apple, which follows up from her debut album 'Tidal', released back in 1996. Although doing well in the United States, Fiona Apple is the type of singer still overshadowed in this country in support of today's hugely popular boy band and pop culture. This is a great shame considering how talented she is. Fiona Apple has a remarkable gift for writing songs that are not only unforgettable but poignant too. From the angst filled to the more upbeat songs you can be guaranteed each and every one is fantastic. The album is consistently good and is without any of that substandard material that has a habit of filling other artists albums as though they've run out of good material. Fiona Apple is quite different from today's other artists. Her voice is very distinct (an aspect I love) and her writing style sets her out from the crowd. Of a particular note, the album's title is actually 90 words long and is in the Guinness Book of Records for the longest title ever. I would definitely recommend buying Fiona Apple's album. If you don't want to splash out straight away check out some of the online Music Stores which allow you to sample her material to see if it's for you. Enjoy!
