The northern Californian Metal band Deftones released "White Pony", their third album in 2000. The Sacramento band showed just how far they could take the conventional sounds of the time and twist them in their own experimental way. I know very little about the band other than the fact that the lead vocalist, Chino Moreno, shares my name (although mine is spelled with two 'i's) combined with the fact that they dropped hardcore Metal through the key 2000 turning point was enough to get me interested. 1. "Feiticeira" Getting the album underway, you have one which finds them getting right down to the Metal work with some drumming ... Read the complete review

There are some albums that you can listen to whenever, just to make your day. There are some albums you can listen to just to tranquillise and relax and there are some albums that have one classic you just want to listen to over and over again. Deftones ‘White Pony’ is an album that is to hard to be put under any one of these category’s, but one things for sure, a number of classics make ‘White Pony’ a classic. So, what is the White Pony? Only the greatest album made by one of the greatest rock/metal bands to date, the Deftones. The third in a series of truly great music, being the sequel to ‘Around The Fur’, ... "Dididi. dudud du du dudu du duhdudu di dum" No a toddler isn't writing this epinion! This is a tune I hum to myself quite a bit. Have done for, oh, about 3 years now. Can anyone guess what it is? ****INTRODUCTION**** No, well it's a little song called My Own Summer by the Deftones. You may have heard of it. Deftones have been one of my favorite bands for awhile now. They are just so true to their sound. They remind me how Korn used to sound once apon a time. And I appreciate them even more when I think how once rock giants Korn and Metallica have changed so much. So you can imagine how worried I was when I heard their ... Read the complete review

How do they do it?! It must be hard to come up with something original, something different and still something amazing when you've already produced two albums in only 5 years, yet the Deftones can do it. This album is incredible! I'm listening to it as I write this, and it's so great! This wasn't my opinion at first however. I was told I would get used to it, and I certainly did. This album grows on you, and once you're used to their new sound, you can listen to it over and over and over. It's different from their first albums (Around the Fur and, Adrenaline), there are different feelings surrounding the music. This is what I ... Read the complete review

Although deftones are one of my favourite bands and one of the real revolutionary bands of this decade. Although this album doesn't beat Adrenaline(1994) or Around the Fur (1997) it does equal it. This album came out June 14th(i think) this year and i bought the limited red edition straight away. I must say i wasn't blownn away by it at first because of the change in style. Howeever i soon adapted to it and i think its amazing. It seems a lot more polished than the previous albums but is a bit more mellow. This doenst matter though as the mellow songs are just that good! The album opens with feticeria (translates as some brazilian gameshow) which is ... Read the complete review
