Advantages: Every track is good, Track 9, Keith Moon, need I say more

Disadvantages: can't think of any

For me this is the finest album produced by The Who at the height of their greatness. It features arguably the greatest song of all time, Won’t Get Fooled Again. It has to rank up there with the greats.
I was first introduced to the sound of Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle, Pete Townshend and the late Keith Moon at a young age when I watched Tommy on video. I soon craved more of the fantastic sound and hunted in my Dad’s vinyl collection for more and there it was in all its mint condition glory, Who’s Next.
It starts off with the strange teenage anthem Baba O’Reily a quality song with excellent lyrics and an interesting sound, just the way any aspiring young bands of today should be looking up to.
Bargain is track 2 which is all about a woman he is chasing after and what he would do to get her, a strong point in this song is the erratic style of drumming, a trademark of Moon.
The next track is, in my opinion, one of the poorer songs, it is still a classic and if released today I would still be confident of reaching no.1, no track on this album is bad. It is called Love Ain’t For Keeping.
My Wife is about a man being chased by his wife suspected of cheating on her, he is doing everything in his power to stop her as is told in the lyrics of the song.
Song Is Over is a quiet relaxing song great for just chilling out with on a Sunday morning. It’s laid back piano is the centerpiece of the song.
Getting In Tune is the third best song on the album, it creates a picture of the band sitting in the garden just writing for the fun of it but coming up with yet another superb masterpiece.
Going Mobile is an exciting high tempo song with not a lot to say apart from its… yes you guessed it ANOTHER QUALITY SONG!!
My second favourite track is Behind Blue Eyes a slow mellow track that has a twist in the middle. It starts with slow relaxing guitar and no drums. No drums I hear you cry! It is possible to have
an excellent tune by The Who without Keith Moon destroying yet another set of drums. Then in comes the electric guitar for acoustic, the pitch in Daltrey’s voice turns from quiet, shy to accusing, rough tone, proving his quality as a vocalist and yes Moon comes in with all the rest of the change with his flamboyant drumming. You didn’t really think they’d leave him out did you?
Moving swiftly on to the finale and what an ending. Having listened to the whole album apart from one song you must be thinking when is it going to let up well the answer, it’s not. Won’t Get Fooled again an eight minute long high tempo pure rock anthem. It’s constant change, great synthesizer, Daltreys voice, Entwistle on the base not to mention stunning guitar by Townshend and yes fabulous stick work by none other than Keith Moon. It sums up their performace on the album like no other track could.
Who’s Next, in a nutshell is a fantastic album that you never seem to get bored of, as other Who fans will understand.

Ditto rumblefish - makes it difficult to read but enjoyable nevertheless.
