And this is a selection from her golden years, 1967 - 74. There are so many soul classics on here - satisfaction is surely guaranteed for anyone. It is a perfect introduction to the music of Aretha Franklin for the uninitiated, more so I would say than a greatest hits which usually just collects together all the Atlantic singles, which are wonderful, but there s more to the picture than that. This album gives the breadth of Aretha s talent as a Composer/Interpreter/Singer/Pianist and all round soul diva. The great news is it can be picked up for under £5 on Amazon and really is essential listening.
