Instead there is either the brutish male vocals which are supposed to suit the battle songs or the same vocalist going for a more suave approach which makes him sound like a bit of a perv breathing down the phone combined with nauseating female vocals. Whilst this album seems to have done extremely well in Germany, I can't see it catching on - perhaps my failure to understand German is to blame a bit, I've heard that the lyrics are supposedly quite entertaining. A lot of german folk music sounds similar to the Czech stuff that I'm quite a fan of, so far I've struggled to get into it though with bands like Schandmaul disappointing. Cultus Ferox was the latest band that I gave a run out to - their album Wiederkehr was released back in 2003 and was filled with a medieval folky sound.
