A lot of german folk music sounds similar to the Czech stuff that I'm quite a fan of, so far I've struggled to get into it though with bands like Schandmaul disappointing. Cultus Ferox was the latest band that I gave a run out to - their album Wiederkehr was released back in 2003 and was filled with a medieval folky sound. Musically it's not bad, it's just not all that rivoting either. What would set it apart would be some decent female vocals but I'm saddened to say we don't get that. Instead there is either the brutish male vocals which are supposed to suit the battle songs or the same vocalist going for a more suave approach which makes him sound ... Read the complete review
