A must have for fans of the king.

Elvis was best known as the king of rock and roll and his music could never be questioned, he also however had an acting career and his acting skills and the movies he made could certainly be questioned, they did however provide Elvis with many very good soundtracks and this one "Wild In The Country" is one such album. This album has been digitally enhanced and released by the Elvis specialists FTD, so what you get is very good Elvis tracks with a clarity of sound that just wasn't available back in the day. The clarity of sound on this album is excellent and really allows the tone of the great mans voice to really be heard and you can pick out instruments and things that you will nit have heard listening to this on the old albums of yesteryear. The tracks on this album are some of Elvis`s lesser known tracks mixed with a few of his big hits, there are also different takes of the same song which makes foe very interesting listening for fans like myself who have listened to Elvis and his music for years. This is not a cheap Elvis album that has been kicking around for years it is a collector's item as the current Amazon price of £99.99 points out, if you are a true fan like me than this is a must have album if you are no more than an occasional listener to the great man then you might not want to splash the cash on such an eclectic album. THE TRACK LISTING: 1. Wild in the Country 2. Lonely Man 3. I Slipped, I Stumbled, I Fell 4. In My Way 5. Forget Me Never 6. Lonely Man (solo) 7. I Slipped, I Stumbled, I Fell (low key) 8. Wild In The Country

Elvis Presley made many movies where the music was more important than the film - the film in fact comes across as little more than an advertisement for the accompanying soundtrack album. WILD IN THE COUNTRY, Elvis' 7th film, is not one of those movies however. In fact here, although the music was important, the plot comes across as being the driving force, with the music primarily being a series of soft ballads. This CD is an extended version of the soundtrack, produced by the specialist Elvis Presley record label, FTD. The CD features the original versions of the tracks from the film, in addition to a series of alternate takes and mixes. There are some great songs on this album, including the sublime LONELY MAN and the exquisite IN MY WAY. My favourite track on the album though has to be I SLIPPED, I STUMBLED, I FELL which, although being a minor song in the Elvis canon, was the first Elvis song I can recall hearing as a child and so has a special place in my heart.
