Despite its whimsical nature in (many) places, this album still maintains integrity. It is a great (and much ignored) example of simple yet very effective song writing and composition. The subjects of the songs are approached in such away as to avoid mushiness, sentimentality and he stays away from pushing any particular message down your throat, letting the music and overall effect of the song take over. Great lyrics and guitar work. The best track on the album is “I Want To Be Ready” – inspirational lyrics. Now here's a cd that makes you look out your window and say, "Dear God I Love America." It makes you walk up to red, red, roses, and smell them and wake up to the greatness of this great cd. Now I say every cd I listen to is Great. But this cd is also one for the books because it's got more christianity songs, more homelessness songs, and more just surprising superb songs. His guitar skills have GREATLY improved since his first cd. This cd greatly compliments his earlier cd, "Burn To Shine." Because it has to do with the same lyrical reasoning.
