Advantages: Classy Tunes,No weak tracks
Disadvantages: none
Last week I wrote about the David Gray album-White Ladder and spoke about it was the best album I had ever heard.Well since that post I have heard this album and Iam torn now on which one is my favourite ever. I first learnt about it because Iam hoping to pass my driving test shortly and I was looking for some music for my car,I liked the latest Stereophonics album Peformance and Cocktails so decided to have a look in that section for members reviews and thanks to the other guys in this section that recommended it I decided to DOWNLOAD it off napster(read other review for details!). I have to say that I used to be a real chart person. It was just something about me,I always bought singles and albums that where in the chart not ex-albums or singles and I tended to listen to them a few times then once the hype and radio play of the songs died down aswell as the song or album exiting the chart I tended to chuck it to the back of the CD rack never to be listened to again. But recently thanks to reading reviews of ex-albums on dooyoo I have gone back to old albums and are now in the faze where everything I listen to is from years gone by and is actually a good standard of music. Also the fact that the charts are now full of boy bands screaching out teenage love songs also has put me off following the charts. Anyway enough of the drovel of why I found out about this.....This album has class written right through it,It really is entertaining and every track on it could have been released as a single. It is much louder than the David Gray album but not as in heavy metal, although a few songs have a more quieter solumn feel to them.Tracks such as "Billy Davey`s Daughter" and in a way "Traffic" are two examples of this.Every song if you listen carefully has a message to it.Most recounting life in Wales(where the band originate from). It is better than Performance and Cocktails I think even though that is also a class album b
ut does have one or two weak tracks. This album has no weak tracks and will have you listening to it for hours over and over again. My personal favourite tracks are Goldfish Bowl and Local Boy in The Photograph. Two up-tempo tracks which are very catchy and have you singing them to yourself all day! All in all I have to say it draws with David Gray at the moment but isn`t really an album you should deffinatly buy if you like David Gray as it is more uptempo in the most part.It deffinatly worth the buy or download though as it is as I say one of the best albums I have ever heard.
