Advantages: More Floyd!
Disadvantages: Disjointed, Shameless moneymaking
A one track album??? Well, not really i'm a big pink floyd fan, they're my favourite band... but i don't like compilation cd's, it's a bit like milking the cash cow to death really. To me, this is a one track album, and the one track that Floyd fans will be interested in is 'Embryo' recorded, but never released (it Was supposed to be on the Ummagumma album i believe, but as the concept of the album was for the band members to work seperately, this didn't fit in, as it was a group collaboration.... Progressive rock, tch, don't you just love it?) As for the rest of the tracks, they're great, of course, being from other albums, such as 'Brain damage' and 'Eclipse' from Dark side of the moon. The whole album is very disjointed to me, part of the point of pink floyd's concept albums was the coherence and singular vision, having them all chopped up, not as intended, just doesn't seem right. If you're looking to experience Pink Floyd for the first time, it's best to buy one of their proper albums, you can't go wrong with Dark side of the moon, or Meddle. If you really want this one track, embryo (and it is good), then go look for it cheap somewhere. a one track album to me
