Year of the Gentlemen is Ne-Yo's 3rd album and was released on September 16th 2008. It was nominated for 6 Grammy awards but never won any of them.

4 singles so far have been released from the album.
1. Closer
Closer reached #1 on the UK charts and spent 11 weeks in the top 10. Unlike most of Ne-Yo's other songs, this one takes on more of a dance pop feel rather than the chilled urban sound.

2. Miss Independent
This song gives a great message about men liking strong women who can do things for themselves. Although this is one of the best songs on the album it only reached #6 on the UK charts. The video features a couple of well known stars including Gabrielle Union.

3. Mad
This was my second favourite song on the album. It's a fantastic ballad about a couple fighting and neither person will give in because they're both stubborn. Ne-Yo has a great way of showing relationships arent easy and theyre not always plain sailing.

4. Part of the list
I loved this single. The lyrics behind the song explain the reasons why he loved his ex and all the things he misses about her.

Stop this world was my favourite song from the album and i just cant stop myself from listening to it over and over. Its a very touching ballad about how much he loves this girl and she means everything in the world to him. The first time i heard the song and really listened to the lyrics it made me well up.

One of the main things i love about this album is the fact that it's all Ne-Yo. There are no featuring artists unlike most RnB albums around at the minute. Its a very eclectic album that has a mix of upbeat, feelgood songs and ballads. Its a great album to lay back and relax to. Some of the lyrics really make you think about your own relationships and whats going on in your life.

This one will by staying on my playlist for a long time to come.
