'You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best' was released to coincide with the initial 'Alive/Worldwide' Reunion tour in 1996. essentially, this is an amalgamation of the first two live cuts produced by the band, namely 1975's 'Alive!' and 1978's 'Alive! II'. While this may not sound too tempting to the hardcore KISS fan (and there are a few of us!), it is actually a nice, compact live edition which really is rather good. Here we go again you think. Another compilation album! We've had enough of these already! Look closely at the track listing though and you'll find that this isn't just a hybrid of Alive! and AliveII - oh no - what we have in this release is some tracks that mustn't have made the grade at the time of the latter two albums' releases. Live versions of tracks from 'Dressed to Kill' and 'Rock and Roll Over' such as 'Take Me' are here and they are much better than some of the material on the 'official' live albums.
