Advantages: Good for KISS newcomers, 4 unheard live tracks, Good cover artwork

Disadvantages: Not too much to satisfy older KISS fans

KISS live - the ultimate in theatrical and musical rock! 'You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best' was released to coincide with the initial 'Alive/Worldwide' Reunion tour in 1996. essentially, this is an amalgamation of the first two live cuts produced by the band, namely 1975's 'Alive!' and 1978's 'Alive! II'.

While this may not sound too tempting to the hardcore KISS fan (and there are a few of us!), it is actually a nice, compact live edition which really is rather good.

At 13 tracks it has a good value for money with the added bonus of a 17 minute interview with US talk show host, Jay Leno which isn't all that revealing as I'm sure everyone has heard it all before, but it does produce a few nice snippets.

The first 6 tracks are taken form 'Alive!' while the second 6 are taken from 'Alive! II, but the real beauty of 'YWTB,YGTB!' is the inclusion of 4 previously unreleased tracks not available on the original 2 record sets. Quite why they were left off is a bit of a mystery as they are better than some of the tracks actually included (especially 'Take Me'), but ours is not to reason why........

The title of this opinion may have been a bit confusing, but the album cover artwork is a variation on a theme. Basically, years ago in Japan, the record company released the first 3 KISS albums in a special edition set called 'The Originals'. A few years later they released the next 3 KISS albums in another special edition set called 'The Originals II'. The point is that the artwork to this album is very reminiscent of those two special releases and is probably the best KISS album cover in 20 years!

I was a bit dubious about it too, but when I bought it I figured it was well worth it!
