Most of the tracks on this debut album are on the short time, around the three minute mark with a couple of exceptions such as the last track on the album and there are some great high energy tracks on this album with no really weak songs at all. My favourite has to be the second track Holiday which is a brutal track with lots of heavy drums and guitar riffs, it is sandwiched between two other tracks that are top quality, the aforemention Rock and Roll Queen ...more

Crowned Review Young For Eternity - Subways: Thank God For Dracula, He Sucked The S**t Outta Me (868 words)

The Subways are one of the current crop of decent bands to be produced by the British music scene, which seems to be particularly buoyant in recent years. They were actually discovered by Glastonbury organizer Michael Eavis who plucked their demo tape out of a huge pile and stuck them on stage at Glastonbury in 2004. It was the chance the band were looking for and they took it with both hands and since then things have certainly moved forward. They are quite a close knit band. Lead singer and lead guitarist Billy Lunn has his brother Josh on drums and girlfriend/fiancée Mary-Charlotte Cooper on Bass. In fact recently the two renewed their engagement infront of ...  Read the complete review

I first heard the band the Subways as they had a track on a Guy Ritchie film Rocknroller and I loved the track and went to find out more about the band on youtube and on the back of what I heard I bought this album which has the track Rock & Roll Queen on it. You could loosely decribe their music as punk rock with the emphasis on the rock part as they have a bit of the Greenday feel about them however one track reminds me a bit of the Undertones. Find yourself an album to which you can release all that angst and aggression, without the guilt that you're listening to a Marilyn Manson album...for those with more taste and more subtlety to their moshing, then this is the Subways with their debut album Young for Eternity. Made up of three young fellows by the names of Billy, Josh and Charlotte, they sound more like a trio of children's crime detectives that punk rockers, but that's what they do for a living, and they can certainly do it well. They sprung to fame back around 2004 having won a national competition to play at Glastonbury - think of them if you will, as a talent contest winning ...  Read the complete review

A couple of years ago now, I fancied seeing a live band and so looked around for someone to see locally. The Subways were playing at a local venue and, though I had kind of heard of them, I didn't know much about them and so looked them up on the internet. What I saw impressed me enough that I bought my ticket and went to see them play. Supported by The Kooks (who were nowhere near as good- I have since got into their studio stuff but every time I hear them live I am less than overly impressed), The Subways blew everyone in the audience away and had the whole club simply rocking! It was one of the best live performances at a small gig that I have ever seen and I was so ...  Read the complete review

Affordable way to own a previously rare and historically significant item. Still sounds similar to much tech-death, and brief at only four tracks.

Unraveled - Confessor
Talented and creative modern doom metal. Becomes samey, and requires a taste for slow music.

Creative melodic black metal for black metal fans who hate melodic black metal. May not be stylistically consistent enough for traditional listeners.

Waves Of Visual Decay - Communic
Progressive metal for prog haters. Still sounds a little bit too much like Nevermore, but nevermind.

We Don't Need To Whisper - Angels and Airwaves
'The Adventure' is a pretty decent track. The rest of the album is incredibly dull.
