Rating:

The Ohio Funk band Zapp brought their second album in 1982, "Zapp II", which had them follow on from a Parliament-Funkadelic-inspired debut which featured the talent of the likes of Bootsy Collins alongside the Troutman Brothers (Roger, Larry, Tony, Terry and Lester) 1. Crowned Review Moooore Bounce (809 words)
by XICripZ - written on 08/04/09 (Very useful, 89 readings)
Rating:

In 1980 the Ohio-based Funk band Zapp released their self-entitled debut album. Taking much of their influence from the work of P-Funk artists of the late seventies, brothers: Tony, Jerry, Lester, Larry and Roger Troutman (the latter two of whom died violently in 1999), made music which went on to become a staple part of Hip Hop (which developed as they did around this time). The stand-out feature of the group is the fact that the then lead vocalist, upon seeing it demonstrated by Stevie Wonder, plays the voice-modifying device, The Talk Box, in almost all of their tracks. 1. "More Bounce To The Ounce" This is one of the most sampled breaks in Hip Hop for ...

The Yin And The Yang - Cappadonna
The old Cappadonna from 'Ironman 1996' returns on LOVE IS THE MESSAGE - TRUE GRIT Many tracks SHAKE DAT thing with terrible production and cliché lyrics - TRUE GARBAGE !

Never Turn Your Back On A Friend - Budgie
Budgie's style defined, and it mostly works. Soft songs are still the weakest point, and far too frequent.

In For The Kill - Budgie
Heavier sound returns, a couple of classics. Abundance of mediocrity in-between.

Gods Of War + Blood Upon The Altar - Blasphemy
Bad attitude and interesting fusion of extreme, early nineties genres. Songs are so short as to be fairly pointless.
