Newest Review: ... Barrowlands are where many of the small and medium bands play in Glasgow, as it has much more personality than a massive hall or stadium. They tend to pack people in a bit, and more often than not you get covered in beer or at least water, but I'm sure that just adds to the atmosphere! It also tends to be pretty relaxed, perhaps making bands more likely to talk to the crowd properly. and although people hanging out in the area may sometimes look a bit rough, its a really friendly place. One word of warning though - the bouncers can be quite strict. My friend had a banana confiscated of all things!... more

A more "colourful" venue - Advantages: Amazing atmosphere/crowd, Not many students (some times it's good to go to somewhere in the "real world"), Used to be a big car boot sale market place with wheel barrows instead of cars (at least so i`m told). - Disadvantages: Can sometimes feel intimidating, but to be honest most people are more friendly than they look
