Internatiomal Arena? (Cardiff International Arena)
Member Name: milton57
Advantages: central location Disadvantages: Not really an arena, more a basketball court I attended the Cardiff International Arena for the first time on Saturday 28th February 2009 to see The Killers. While their performance was as good as I had expected, I was disappointed with the accoustic quality of this so called arena. I had been expecting an arena sized venue and was shoked and dismayed to find that it was only about the size of an average basketball court, and that the floor had lines of loose blocks laid into it, presumably where partition walls could be erected to divide it into even smaller areas, which rocked so badly that I almost lost my balance several times during the evening. As is only to be expected in most music venues, all food and drinks are massively overpriced, with a bottle of ORDINARY Carlsberg (not Export) costing £3.90. Overall, I would rate this venue as the second worst that I have attended (out of a few hundred visited), with the Academy, Bristol taking pride of place at the bottom of my list. Summary: not a very good venue |
