Jools Holland

Newest Review: ... though my dad and I were stuck in those horrible seats, a big video screen displayed the action in the background and was focussed on the piano keyboard as Jools sat down. I've played piano since I was 6 years old, but was bowled over the minute his fingers started moving. His hands seemed to move at 100 MPH over the keys, and he made the whole affair seem almost casual. If anyone had ever made something look easy, then it was Jools at that moment. I just couldn't tear my eyes away from him. Of course, the sound of the rest of the orchestra can't be overlooked. Featurin... more

Jools Holland Time for a little reminiscence of Glastonbury Jools Holland and the Rhythm and blues orchestra were on Pyramid stage at 2.10pm on Saturday Perfect the music just right for a summer afternoon. A truly magnificent beat restful but at the same time compelling You just had to listen .I will be honest I can?t remember the names of the songs. I was a bit sleepy some of the time I just lay on the grass and just listened at others I would be compelled to stand up and dance the beat of the music just flowed through my body. It was a wonderful performance. Shall have to try and catch him and the blues band live again. ...  Read the complete review

Last Saturday night I was fortunate enough to see Jools Holland live at Kew Gardens. I am old enough to remember him from his Squeeze days, and sometimes watch his show “Later with Jools Holland”. Other than that I have to admit that I did not know much else about his work, although of course I knew that he is considered one of the best pianists around. Now I don’t want to be personal but Jools Holland is not a sex god by any means. But what a guy and what a personality! With his charm, charisma and obvious intelligence Jools, backed by his “Rhythm and Blues Orchestra”, had the whole audience transfixed during their hour and a half ...  Read the complete review
