Henry Rollins:
... was raining lightly as we waited in the queue with other ticket holders to get in. In the queue of non-ticket holders (that is a queue that numbered in total one), there was the most unusual looking woman. Possibly 40-45 years old, well dressed, and by the look of her, well fed. Nothing noteworthy I hear you say and I agree, but what made her stand out of the crowd (despite the fact she didn t have a ticket) was t... Westlife in Concert ... few years on from the Westlife madness and I m a few years older and a bit wiser. None the less, I still think so much of the Westlife boys and what they have achieved. I went to see them in concert at Wembley with a friend back about seven years ago. Back then, being only 15 years old, it was a dream come true. They delivered everything you could hope for. Even now when I look back on it, they put on a really good show and still to this day recommend any fan of theirs to get to one of their shows. As easy as it could have been to simply get on stage, grab a stool and sing for an hour non stop, this is not what happened. They of course sung all of their hits, they h... UK Tours 2001 in general ... Autumn. The Wharf, Tavistock, Devon. 30/09/06. £13.00. You may be asking, and rightly so, what the hell is a boogie merchant such as Farting Weasel doing at a prog gig? Yep, I’ve been asking myself the same thing. However, I have a soft spot for Mostly Autumn. I do enjoy a spot of prog. It makes a refreshing change from the relentless charge of full on twelve bar. I like their Storms Over Still Water album, which I found to be a breath of fresh air amidst the heavy-weather brow-furrowing stuff that’s being chucked about at the moment. So, it was with eager anticipation did I descend upon Tavistock to get my head filled with clouds. Mostly Autumn are a... Read the full review: Guitars Duelling With Pipes And Flutes. Eric Clapton ... just another run of the mill, ordinary artist, Eric Clapton will be primarily remembered for his very early recordings and probably very little else. The greatest of these is Layla , released in August 1972 and I Shot The Sheriff , released in July 1974. It is, in a sense, tragic as its only when we look closer that we see that this man s whole life has been and will continue to be dedicated to blues and rock music industry and not just a couple of singles. As well as a creative, imaginative and outstanding solo career, he has also been the epitome of a string of other bands. Layla was of course, released by Derek and the Dominos, but it was also within the g... Read the full review: 'Slowhand from Surrey' by sam1942 |
