Its hard to know where to begin really, Since mealnie has left the spice girls she has released some fantastic music starting with her northern star album - and yet she has still been subject to put downs and other misfortunes.

This albums (released under her own label red girl records) prooves she is here to stay and many critics may have to get used to her writing excellent tracks.

This album is alot more upbeat and dare i say aggressive than her previous 2 she has said this album was about freedom and doing what she wants to do and i think we can all see the rock chick in her.
Track one - Beautiful intentions - is a great start for any album head nodding start and eventually you want to bounce around with this upbeat track - the song is about her honesty getting her into trouble. with the opening line of "i couldnt help but open my big mouth" if she has something to she will say it but she does it with the best of intentions in mind. its hard to compare this song with anything else i know but a rocky chorus and a couple of versus which give a good insight to melanie work well. 8/10

The second track on the album is the only song melanie didnt write and was her album debut - next best superstar - as soon as you hear the distorted guitar sound you feel the energy and in come the drums which make you uncontrollably tap your foot shake your head and get really involved in this song about the torments of being in the limelight and the put downs. You can hear the emotion in her voice through out this song and at the end what i believe she is famous for he powerful voice bellows out and by god this women can hold a note. 9/10 for another upbeat move your body track from this album

Now track 3 was due to be the second release from this album but was turned in to an internet only release - its a beautiful ballad about her feelings after being dropped by virgin records a beautiful piano accompliment all through the song.
" I understand your point of view letting me go but i thought you had more faith everything ive done for you you made the mistakes and now you throw this in my face and i have worked so hard for you all of this time and you cast me aside"
A heart warming track which for me has really grown on me this whole album gives you a really good insight to her as a person.
After the first verse the strings and drums come in and you just flow with the song - this is one that will stick in your head for a long time.

Now im not going to go through every track on the album because i could be here all night but other tracks well worth mentioning are Never say never , a song in which believed by most refers to her spice girl days and all the talks of reunions - its got a kind of bitchy feel to it - but in a "im trying to get my point across for the last time" way - lyrics like "Its hard moving on youve gotta draw the line - that was then this is now no turning back no second time around" - "your like a stuck record going round round round" - "now your begining to patronise me"
this will be thumping out of your player believe me another rocky track.

Little piece of me - displays everything we wanna see in melanie c - her sublime vocals her energy her emotion her truth her rock n roll love. this song for me is the best on the album - you'll dance you'll sing at the top of your voice and you'll put it on repeat - its a 10/10 track and a must for her 3rd single -
any one who is not a melanie c fan and is reading this might guess i am - but this is written with you guys in mind because this is a different melanie c from the i turn to you and never be the same again days - i truely think you the public will love it and welcome her with open arms.

theres a few ballads on the album to good girl and the beautiful here and now and you'll get yours with her new arrangements with the strings this really is an emotional heart felt album from one of the most talented singers we have here in the uk.

Music zone are currently selling this cd for £2.97 so no excuse not to get it
