I have recently attended 2 graduation ceremonies in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. The concert hall when opened was aimed specifically at hosting music, however they also host shows and my husband went to see the comedy show "only an excuse" there also. The hall is large and must hold in excess of 2000 people in a semi circular shape. There is ample leg room in the seating for most people, and there does not appear to be any "blind spot" seating, although as with everywhere some seats are better than others. Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall is located at the top of Buchanan Street and is within easy walking distance of both Queen Street and Central railway stations. There is also easy access from Buchanan Street bus station, only a few minutes walk away. The Royal Concert Hall was opened in 1990 primarily for music events but it also plays host to exhibitions and conferences. The auditorium holds approximately 2500 people and is horseshoe shoe shaped. This actually makes for a cosy type atmosphere when attending an event, as the wraparound effect makes you feel nearer the action on stage.
