Advantages: Clean, modern and informed

Disadvantages: Parking was an issue, but they could rectify this quite easily

I visited the Royal Festival Hall for the first time in November and was thoroughly impressed by the whole experience. The ammenities outside the concert hall were superb; the refreshments suitable priced and the toilets extremely clean and well maintained. Inside the concert hall was equally good; the seats were comfortable with plenty of leg room. It was a little on the warm side, but I admit to having a streaming cold at the time! The performance was slick and well rehearsed. The staff were helpful and informative; they had obviously been briefed effectively beforehand, and were easily able to answer visitors' questions. Whilst the car park at the venue was full (we arrived at 12noon for a 3pm Sunday afternoon concert), we found a parking space nearby. The venue could possibly do more the inform visitors, particularly those travelling some distance, about parking arrangements. These were very clear on the tickets.

Summary: A great venue for great music in a great place
