It even devoted time to poetry where anyone could go and read his/her poems or read out favourites, I thought this was fantastic because poetry seems to be taking a backstage position in the folk scene I think. Main venue was the Town Hall and was comfortable with seating for all who came. Price was around £20 per person if I remember right and was well worth it for the weekend. Uppermill in Saddleworth is the venue for this folk festival and while it may not be the biggest festival, some might even say "Where's Uppermill?" I can assure you thay you will get a warm welcome here. The artists booked in 2000 when I went there were excellent and there were events going on in most of the pubs and clubs.
