Advantages: Great atmosphere, great weather, beautiful place
Disadvantages: Quite expensive to eat and drink
This is in my opinion the best rock festival that is around. I went for the first time last year and absolutely loved every minute of it.
Firstly, it is set over a 4 day period in June with the first day being a warm up day with some smaller bands. They then have a headliner the next 3 evenings which has been bands such as Judas Priest, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Poison and such like. The ticket price is obviously dependent on the swedish exchange rate but works out at approx £160 for the 4 days.
The festival site has around 5 stages and has tons of food stalls and merchandise based around so its not a problem to find something to eat. Drinks are fairly expensive at about £5 per beer or wine and only food and drink purchased there is allowed in.
There is a campsite just outside where you can stay that has toilet blocks and toilets to share and Im sure its no more than £20 to pitch a tent for the 4 days.
You could stay in one of the nearby towns such as Kristianstad, Solvesborg and suchlike as there is a bus going to and from these town throughtout the day and night which you can purchase a ticket for and use at your leisure, some of the towns are a good 40-50 min driveaway though so be warned!
It is an amazing experience without the usual madness of some festivals, plenty of familuies are sat around and you can watch bands without getting completely squashed!
Summary: A great festival if you are into rock of all kinds
