Stereophonics liveNewest Review: ... performances. I have seen them play 3 arena venues like the Hallam FM arena in Sheffield and the big one for the band in their home country and national stadium the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. That gig was around the time of their 'Just Enough Education to Perform' album and I will never forget the feeling created there from new classics to be like 'Mr Writer' and 'Step on my old size nines'. Of course, some things remain consistent at all of their concerts, even though the exact band line up has changed a little and that is the playing of all the great upbeat and uplifting anthums that they have released over the years. If you see t... more |

The Stereophonics are a band I have seen live 4 times now and plan to make it 5 in the very near future. Kelly Jones has a truly remarkable voice on a CD, but it just goes into a completely new stratosphere when being used in a live arena. The band have always been full of energy and gustoe in their songs and this transforms terrifically well into their live performances. I went to see the Stereophonics at Nottingham Ice arena in December on the same tour as an earlier reviewer and can agree totally with all the comments that were made - so it looks as though they are also a consistent band. Sometimes you can find that the venue for the gig can make it a completely different experience but I think here we just have a fantastic live band . I won't bother with the set list as we will be here forever , but it really was a greatest hits tour so I don't think there was anything significant that was left out. They just kept playing and playing I know there were times when I'd think - I know they haven't played Dakota yet ... Read the complete review

I was offered a ticket to see the stereophonics in December 2008 in Glasgow SECC and needed about 1 nano-second to agree! Ive seen them twice before and I come away every time with a greater respect for the band and their music. They opened with Vegas Two Times which was the perfect track to start with - crowd were slowly warming up, and BANG..........More Life in a Tramps Vest kicked in - my favourite! As it was the Decade in the Sun tour, i thought there was a good balance of old and new tracks, which pleased me no end as I am such a fan of the word gets around album! Kelly Jones gave the performance of a lifetime and i loved him even more than ... Read the complete review

2001 has been an excellent touring year for the stereophonics. Their live shows have been some of the most interesting acoustic and intimate of the year, but also they have managed to balance that with selling 100,000 tickets for Donnington Race Course for a fantastic outdoor gig which rebelled against a summer ruined by foot and mouth and awful weather. Somewhere in between all of this in terms of scale but chronologically towards the end of the year they have had one of the most eagerly anticipated arena tours of recent times. Supported by the loud and proud Feeder (whose drummer recently hanged himself in his Miami home and will be sorely missed) the Phonics ... Read the complete review

20th November 2001 - one of the best nights of my life!! I have never been to a concert where the act looked like they were enjoying themselves as much as at this one. The music was phenomenal, the set was amazing, Kelly Jones was gorgeous!!! I must admit, when my friends and I booked our tickets I was some-what aprehensive. I thought that the 'Phonics would only play the stuff off of their new album (Just Enough Education to Perform)which I have to say, I was not overly keen on. I am pleased to say that my anxieties did not come true. The Stereophonics played as many of their classics such as "A Thousand Trees" and ... Read the complete review
