hello all
we went to take that last night 24/06 at manchester old trafford cricket ground.
it is there circus tour, i am not a big take that fan , but went along to keep the peace !! , more of the concert in a bit,
getting into manchester at appx 5 oclock pm was no major trouble , the motorways and roads were busy but not restrictively so.
we parked for free on christie road in stretford , a good spot but fills up quickly. its about a 20 minute walk from here ,
along the walk to the ground there were loads of paid parking sites,
going in to the concert there were no queues to speak of,
you get bag searched on the way in but we were allowed to take sandwiches and drinks in, security were only allowing sealed/unopened drinks containers in.
there were plenty of food and drink vendors and gift vendors when you were in.
we joined the throngs on the pitch , the support acts gary go was ok, but the script were brill,
top of the bill , take that came on , and i admit it they were very good.
this is not just a concert its a show.
well worth the £50 for standing tickets ,
word of caution the crowds are massive its not easy going for drinks etc,
most people find a spot and stay there , be prepared.
leaving at the end of the concert was a bit of a bun fight , 50 thousand people all leaving at once can be problematic, keep friends close and especialy keep an eye on/tight hold of kids they can easily get dragged away in the crush.
we instructed our kids where to go if they got lost/seperated etc, beforehand, contingencey is the order of the day,
take a flag !! or take one each , just one on a stick will do , invaluable for signalling you position in the crowd if it gets busy !!
i took my camera too , no problems there with security,
