 ... rather unimpressed with the band's sound. That said, we were all waiting for the main event, and this was not an easy crowd... I think even Elvis would have struggled! On to U2. After reading about the first leg of the Vertigo tour with a mixture of intrigue and excitement before the brief break and shift into mainland Europe, it was FINALLY my time to experience the U2 phenomenon for myself. It was a hot, sticky, very long day in London, the hottest of that year so far, and after spending the morning sightseeing and shopping, my best friend and I set off for Twickenham Stadium at around 3: 30 pm.
