Newest Review: ... situated in a schools grounds, by a pleasant steward who took us to a level pitch which had been marked out leaving a space of 12 ft clear all around us, ace! Got a book listing the artists and venues for the week and tried to plan the week, this was not easy because there are so many brilliant singers to see and hear that deciding where to go and who to see was a prob. There are so many venues, good ones too, that with careful planning we were able to see most of what we wanted. The school provided excellent food at cheap prices from 8 am to 9 pm and the rifle club were selling spirits at £1.20 for a double measure. What more can you ask?... more

A full week indeed at Whitby if you go for the folk festival. Brilliant top bill artists were there in 2000 and 2001 should be much of the same. I went for the first time in 2000 and took my caravan not fully knowing how it would turn out. To start with, we were greeted on the caravan site, which was situated in a schools grounds, by a pleasant steward who took us to a level pitch which had been marked out leaving a space of 12 ft clear all around us, ace!
