“ Brand: Asda / Type: Nappies „
I am on a quest to try out as many asda smart price products as possible in search of a cheaper shop. When my little boy was ready to go into a size 5 junior nappy i was over the moon as it meant i could try out asda smart price range. I usually use wilkos own brand which are £2.00 a pack so asda at £1.41 was a bargain and meant saving a little bit more!
Packaging as usual with Asda is the most basic white and green logo so your not spending your cash on pretty packaging well who cares any way when it goes in the bin?
Price is a bargain £1.41 so far the cheapest i have seen for 20 nappies although Asda don't seem to have a variaty os sizes it was only the junior size i could find.
The product in question!! right so the nappy itself is like a plactic outer feels weird but believe me these can hold a heck of alot in with very little leakage, the sticky tapes can be a pain as your paronoid not to get babies skin, also like alot of top brand nappies where there elasticated round the sides these are not. These nappies are very similer to ones i normally get from wilko in feel and style the only difference is my son seemed to get alot of sore skin around where the nappy is on the back of his legs and he seemed to suffer from nappy rash alot as well. I tried making sure i changed him as often as possible but still no change.
Overall a good buy but be careful of babies skin also putting cream on babies bum can be a pain because the sticky tapes become ineffective if any cream gets on them as they are like sticky tape.
When I tried these nappies on my 24 month old Son, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they didn't leak and were a reasonable fit around the legs. Also at £1.47 for 20, they are half the price of most supermarket own nappies, great when you are on a budget. However, when fastening them, I did find that because the side tapes had no stretch in them, it was surprisingly easy to rip the nappy, obviously not good. In terms of design the logos on the front made them a reasonably attractive nappy and the plastic coating on the outside offered additional protection. In summary, I would say that the nappies are satisfactory, although my preference would be for Asda own brand nappies. However, I would still argue that they are a good buy if you are on a budget or if your child is just in nappies at night.
