I remember when I was about 8 months pregnant, my partner and I spotted a huge box on offer in Sainsburys so as we wanted to buy things in bulk to prepare for baby's arrival, this box of 6 packs of these Johnson's baby wipes went straight in our Shopping Trolley! I don't remember how much that cost (this was 3 years ago!) but I recently picked up a pack of 64 wipes in my local chemist for 99p.
The wipes come in a nice pink packaging, with the usual happy baby on the front (aww!) and a description on the back. The packet is about 22cm long, 12cm in height and around 6cm in depth so it's quite compact and can easily be carried in a change bag or with me fits neatly in a glove compartment.
The pack has an easily resealable strip in the centre, which can be peeled back to get one wipe out and then replaced to close the packet and lock the moisture in so these wipes do not dry out. It's very sticky so it reseals effectively and does not come apart leaving the pack wide open.
The wipes themselves are great! They are not too thin so they don't tear easily and are really multi purpose. Of course when my daughter was a baby, they were soft and gentle enough to be wiped on her bottom, she did not ever suffer any adverse reactions and they were strong and durable at wiping up poo (sorry it had to be said lol!) and I always found one or two wipes was enough for the job, meaning the pack was quite long lasting. Nowadays I mainly use these wipes as I like to have a pack in my car for when my daughter gets her hands sticky when we are out and about, and if she is going to eat something or if she needs a quick wipe of the face I have these to hand.
My favourite thing about these wipes is the smell! Quite hard to describe, it is as though Johnson's have squeezed their body lotion into these wipes as they smell just the same and have a soft and gentle, yet sweet and natural baby scent. The smell lingers on a babys bottom, or in the case nowadays on her hands and face so she looks and smells all bright and clean!
Overall these wipes are really great value and so I definitely recommend them. They are more expensive than a supermarket own brand pack of wipes but I think they are worth the few extra pennies, just try wait and get them on offer!
These wipes are excellent quality. They are soft yet strong and they are suitable for a wide range of uses.
I use these wipes daily to clean my hands and for removing make-up. The wipes remove make-up well and their mild and gentle formula means that they can be used around the delicate eye area without causing any irritation to the area. The wipes don't contain perfume so they are suitable for sensitive skin. The wipes are of a good size. Just one wipe should be enough for whatever you are using it for.
They are also good for travelling, thanks to their re sealable pack. I would suggest re sealing the pack straight away after opening as sometimes the wipes can dry out if they are exposed to air. Keeping them sealed in their pack helps them to retain their moisture. The wipes are quite moist and they are refreshing too. They're great for just wiping over your face when you are hot and/ or sweaty.
The wipes come in lots of different varities and they are usually on some sort of offer. Be prepared to pay between £1 and £2.50 per pack of 80 wipes.
They're widely available to buy too.
When I was having Jayden I joined the Tesco Baby Club which resulted in me receiving several coupons for baby products every few weeks, which is something I still receive, however before he was born I received 6 coupons for £1.00 off Johnson's Baby Skincare Wipes Fragrance Free, they had quite a long date on them so I decided that as wipes were going to be something I needed a lot of I would buy a pack every week or so with my shopping, after all if it turned out Jayden was unable to use this product the Johnson Fragrance Free wipes were something I could make use of myself.
The Johnson Fragrance Free Wipes come in a pink and white plastic style packet with a clear plastic tab on the top which can be peeled back to remove the wipes and re-stuck to keep the remaining wipes fresh. On the left hand side of the packet is the name of product "Johnson's Baby Skincare Wipes Fragrance Free" written in blue and red with the statement "Our purest care ever" written underneath. The right hand side of the packet is taken up with a picture of a smiling baby, this information is repeated on one of the sides of the packet as well. The back of the packet contains all of the product information such as various bits of information about the wipes as well as warnings about the product. On the back of the packet is also information about Johnson's Wipe Out Waste campaign and how you can join in with this. All of the information is written in blue on a white background making it easy to read and follow.
The Johnson Fragrance Free Baby Wipes look just like any other wipes, they are plain white and made from a thin papery cotton type material, they are rectangle in shape and of a decent size. When you removed one of the wipes from the packet they do feel quite moist, although not so wet that they will leave you baby's skin really wet. Obviously being fragrance free these wipes do not smell of anything at all, they are hypoallergenic, alcohol free and soap free. Johnson's describe these wipes as their purest care yet, they are said to be as mild as pure water meaning that they can be used all over your baby's face including near the eye area, their no more tears formula means that these will not sting or irritate your baby's eyes, the wipes contain Johnson's No More Tears Fragrance Free Moisturising Lotion. Because the wipes are so gentle and mild they can be used for anything whether its during a nappy change or to wipe your baby's face after a feed or to clean sticky hands.
Despite the Johnson Fragrance Free Baby Wipes being so mild and gentle there are still one or two warnings on the back of the packaging which include
* For external use only
* Keep out of reach of children
These are standard for this type of product, you would normally expect to see warnings about avoiding contact with eyes, however if these wipes come into contact with your baby's eyes it is not a problem and they are very unlikely to cause any irritation or stinging, however there is always an exception and some products do not suit some people.
Price and Availability
Johnson Baby Skincare Wipes Fragrance Free are available in a variety of shops including most supermarkets and shops like Boots and Superdrug. I purchased my packets of 64 wipes from our local Tesco, I only paid £1.13 for each pack as I had money off coupons however when full price they are £2.13. I would say they are good value for money, the wipes are reasonably long lasting, although with a baby you do go through a lot of this sort of product. I would say that they are not the cheapest wipes you can buy however they are of a good quality and I would purchase them at full price because of this.
So far I have used a couple of the packets of Johnson's Fragrance Free Baby Wipes that I stocked up on and I have been impressed. The wipes leave Jayden's skin feeling clean and fresh whether that's when I change his nappy or whether I have wiped his face following his bottle. I like the fact that the wipes are so mild that they can be used all over the face as it does make things much easier and I do not have to worry about him getting anything in his eyes that will irritate them. The wipes are of a good quality and really do clean your baby's skin well. If I had to mention one disadvantage for me it would be the fact that there is no fragrance to them, I know that is the whole point of these wipes but if your baby is ok to use a perfumed product which Jayden seems to be ok with so far I do think it is nice to use something nice smelling on your baby's skin particularly when changing them. Whilst I would like a bit of fragrance when it comes to nappy changes I do like the fact that there is no fragrance in these when it comes to using them on the face as I know that there is nothing that can sting or irritate his eyes.
Whilst these are described as baby wipes there is no reason why adults cannot use them, they would be useful to have around in order to freshen up when travelling or to wipe your hands with, the lack of fragrance means that there is going to be no nasty after taste left on your hands should you eat after using them. Overall these wipes have been extremely successful and I have been pleased with the quality of them. This is definitely a product I would use in the future and also recommend to anyone.
Over the last twenty years I've tried almost every brand of baby wipe that's hit the shelves but I keep coming back to Johnson's, because as far as I'm concerned they are simply the best available. The standard pack of 64 wipes is easily opened via a sticky tab, that unlike some brands retains it's stickiness until the last wipe is used. These baby lotion infused wipes are easy to remove from the packaging, without pulling out more than one at a time or ripping the wipe. Once in the hand they have the perfect level of moisture, not too wet or too dry and unlike some other brands the last wipe has the same level of moisture as the first.
Formed of a ribbed and slightly stretchy material with a gentle "no more tears" formulation they are perfect for wiping dirty bums, grubby hands and faces. Although technically it's not recommended to use any wipe on a newborn baby's bum, I find these are perfect for cleaning up that nasty, black poo that just sticks to cotton wool. They're also great for cleaning up a toddler's much more adult, stinky poo, and are the perfect thickness, not so thin that they tear but still thin enough to allow you to get in all the nooks and crannies and unless it's an explosion, I never need to use more than three or four wipes. As they wipe up the mess they leave a very thin layer of moisturising lotion on the skin, which is absorbed quickly leaving the skin soft and dry.
Although they are also available in an un-fragranced variety, I must admit that I love the smell of these wipes, which is a very mild version of the classic Johnson's baby smell. I've never known these wipes to cause a reaction either, even on my youngest's very sensitive bottom. As with all wipes, they will sting if the little one has severe nappy rash, but not nearly as much as many cheaper wipes. Talking of price, at normal retail price these are significantly more expensive than many other brands, but they are often on special offer. By stocking up whenever I see them on offer, I've never paid more than 75p a pack, meaning they are not only better than the leading competitor, but also cheaper.
As well as being great for cleaning bums, these wipes are brilliant for wiping grubby hands and sticky fingers. I always have some handy for when we're doing anything messy. They even make great standbys for when you've run out of make-up remover, cleaning off the slap and lightly moisturising in one. Other uses include cleaning white trainers or the residue from sticky labels, and they bring up leather settees a treat. They can even be used to freshen up on hot days, just use them to wipe all those hot sweaty bits. So I'm giving these wipes five out of five and recommending that you at least give them a try.
Johnsons baby wipes-
The Johnsons baby wipes are worth every penny. They are soft, gentle yet effective.
They are an essential item to any parent, from changing nappies to taking makeup off, hair dye and other stains etc.
I think i must have tried all the wipes out there since my daughter was born but i always come back to Johnson's!!!
They are a little more costly than others but are def the best. I have used cheaper ones and my daughter always ended up with a bad rash.
They smell lovely, like a new baby and have just the right amount of moisture in them as some are too dry where as others are too wet!
I normally buy them in bulk/boxed if on offer as they are well worth it and i wouldnt go back to anything else! The packet of Johnson's Baby Skincare Wipes is re-sealable with a sticker and although not the best reseal pack I have seen, the strong, wet wipes do seem to stay nicely moist over a period of time.
They are alcohol free, tear free and fragrance free.
Overall the best so far!
Johnsons are the only wipes on my shopping list! I have tried both the sensitive, unfragranced wipes and the aloe wipes. I prefer the aloe wipes as they have more moisture and clean more easily. They are soft and long lasting with a lovely clean, fresh fragrance - very welcome on some occasions! The size is just right and having tried other brands as well as own makes I will always return to these. They do not rip or tear when pulled and have a multitude of uses - not just for baby - cleaning shoes is the latest in a long list! They are also excellent for cleaning up spills on fabric or clothes, as well as faces and bottoms! The fragrance free wipes are slightly drier and in my opinion, do not have the same cleaning effect, meaning that you have to rub over the skin several times to remove matter, this said, even the fragrance free ones are better than some I have tried.
I have used quite a few baby wipes over time, as they can be used for so many things, since my son has been born ive been buying them all the more and now feel I have a good over view of whats on the market.
Johnsons arent at the top of my list for wipes, in my opinion they are too wet, which wasnt too much of an issue when using on my son as we always dry him anyway, but the issue arises when you nearly reach the end of the packet, the label just will not stay on because its so wet the stickiness just completely goes from it.
Other then that they are nice wipes, clean nicely and are a really good size, they have grooves in them which helps rather then plain and smooth, and the fragrance is lovely, as per all Johnsons products.
They are packaged in a most pink plastic wrap, with a baby on the front smiling, the opening is a clear label which pulls up at one side.
They can be used quite well for babies, face, cleaning and all sorts, we have been known to clean shoes and trainers with baby wipes and it works fab!
!!!! Packaging !!!!
The packaging is made of a soft plastic which is predominately pink in colour; on the front of the packet is the Johnsons logo and a picture of a smiling baby on the right. At the far right there is the typical Johnsons no more tears logo and states that it contains 64 wipes.
If you turn the product over, at the top it describes exactly the benefits of the wipes, followed by a list of ingredients further down
The packet is about 22cm long, 12cm in height and roughly 6cm in depth.
To access the wipes, on the front of the packet is a clear flap, you need to lift this up and the label will peel back to reveal a small whole where the wipes can be pulled out.
!!!! The wipes !!!!
I love the smell of Johnsons baby wipes; they remind me so much of a newborn baby smell. The smell is very gentle and have a soft fragrance of flowers.
Each wipe is very moist but not to the extent that it's dripping. The good thing about them being so moist is that they get of any stains/dirt off without the need to scrub the skin
The wipes are alcohol free which means they will not dry your baby's skin out and they also follow the Johnsons 'no more tears' stance so they are useful to wipe eyes with.
I also like the fact that they leave a lovely fragrance on the skin, after I have used them on my daughter the fragrance on the wipe transfers onto her skin making her smell lovely, clean and fresh.
I also notice with these that the wipes are a decent size, coupled with the fact that they are very moist one wipe goes a long way.
To touch, the wipes are very soft, this is the main reason I use Johnsons. I find that some wipes are quite firm whereas these glide easily over her skin. 97% of the wipe is made from water making them effective on even the sensitive of skin.
!!!! Conclusion !!!!
I always look for wipes when they are on offer and you can regularly find a pack of Johnson's baby wipes for £1 or sometimes less!
You get 64 wipes which is a lot more than some branded wipes and they are also quite large in size.
I have used these wipes on my daughter from newborn - although they tell you to use cotton wool, I found Johnsons never dried out her skin and left her feeling soft and moisturised.
The smell is wonderful, it's ever so slight but it remains on your baby's skin after you have used them.
The wipes also come in handy for myself, I regularly use these to remove makeup as they are a lot softer than face wipes and you get a lot more for your money. Face wipes can be very expensive and harsh on your face so I find using a couple of Johnson's baby wipes feels much better on my skin.
A great product and my favourite brand of wipes to by over any other.
I use a few different brands of baby wipes, it all depends what is on offer and what is the best deal, with having a 3 year old who is in nappies at night and a 18 month old I get through a lot of baby wipes! Sometimes I feel like they are on a conveyer belt in the morning and let you tell you my house stinks!
I normally tend to buy the multipacks, and I also find this is where to get the best offers.
So recently I saw a big multi pack of 9 packets of Johnson's baby wipes for I think it was about £6 I can't remember, Must be the mummy brain! But it was the best deal in the whole store.
Johnsons Baby wipes come in a plastic type packaging and on closer inspection it has a recycle logo which is always a benefit.
You get 64 wipes in a pack, they are rectangular shape, very strong and quite thick. They also have little grooves in the wipe which is great as this helps getting the poo of your babies bum! (Just telling you like it is)
They smell quite strong I feel compared to other wipes I have used. It is not a bad smell, quite fresh water spell combined with the smell of the Johnsons baby lotion.
I also find these wipes are wetter then Huggies. And especially near the end of the pack they can make your babies bum really wet after wiping, maybe this is why some people complain that they give a nappy rash to their babies.
My kids have never had any sort of reaction to these I find they are very wet though, so prefer Huggies over Johnson's but only slightly.
These are very gentle on the skin and Johnsons state they are made with 97% of pure water and the only essential cleansing ingredients and provide our purest care for your baby's delicate skin.
Fragrance-free, alcohol-free and hypoallergenic, they are suitable even for the most sensitive skin.
I would have to disagree with the fragrance free statement as I think they do smell stronger than other brands.
Aqua , Glycerin , Coco-Glucoside , Glyceryl Oleate , Glyceryl Polyacrylate , Carbomer , Lauryl Glucoside , Polyglyceryl-2- Dipolyhydroxystearate , Citric Acid , Sodium Hydroxide , p-Anisic Acid , Phenoxyethanol , Sodium Benzoate .
Now it states you can use them on your face too so you could use them for taking make up off, I have done this before, and it does work really well but I don't like the feeling of how my skin feels after. It's just too wet!
Be expected to pay about £2.50 a packet however you can get multipack buys especially from Boots, Asda and Tesco as well as other supermarket chains and this tends to work out a lot cheaper.
Overall I like these, I just wish they were not as wet as they can make your child's bum quite damp!
I don't know what it is about wet wipes that make me attracted to them after seeing them in an aisle. Regardless of whether I need them or not I must always buy them.
This is because of the sheer vast amount of tasks that they can do, from cleaning the mud off your shoe to wiping your face clean and cleaning your bike rims (not at the same time obviously!)
Therefore I will always have an endless need for wipes, and these wipes were no different to any others apart from the fragrance.
The one thing I love about the Johnson's wet wipes is that they give off a very fruity like smell which instantly catches my senses. It is a sweet and sharp small, and it rarely is odourless after a few wipes.
It is durable as it is a monster of a task tearing it up with your bare hands and lasts for a long time depending on the task you wish it to assist you in.
Also the effectivity of the wipe is par with most/all wet wipe's I have used in the past. It does the job but it takes longer and longer to complete the job. That is why it isn't as great.
The sheet is the typical 'little less than a half of a A4 paper' size and it is a decent and fair amount.
Overall - I think the product is a good working improvement of the already massive johnson wet wipes, but I am very sure there will be a much more improved version sooner than later. So stick around and see what they have to offer.
Johnsons are a well known brand and commonly known to be a leader in baby products but I need to say I was left dissappointed.
I have a little baby and recieved a pack of wipes in the Bounty gift pack, which I was happy about knowing the reputation of Johnson. I started using them on baby and quickly her bottom turned red and sore and I had to stop using them and return back to water and cotton wool. I know they are meant to be very good but after reading the ingredients I found out they were highly perfumed and really not that great with sensitive baby skin.
I decided to give them one more go and bought a pack of the sensitive wipes but in actual fact I found them worst, they were really soapy and generally messy. I wanted to protect my babys skin, instead I was just causing her pain. I had to stop using them and I know I am not the only person. I did write a letter to Johnsons and I recieved a response about them.
However, if your baby is not sensitive to them, I do have to say they are good quality with 64 wipes in a pack at £2.50, they are more expensive than others but they are often on buy one get one free or half price. They are wet and do not fall to peices in your hands. they are good but just not suited to every baby.
I tend to avoid the wipes now but I do use other products in their range and we have had no adverse reaction so far. Obviously, I have mixed feelings after my babys reaction but then I have spolen to other mothers, who swear by them.
I have 2 small children and with both of them, whenever i used johnsons wipes they irritated my childrens skin, leaving them sore and uncomfortable. I know that johnsons are considered the best and thought that i was dong the best for my children, but i had to stop using these quickly as my children were in pain. That said the wipes themselves are of a good standard as they are reasonably thick, wet and dont fall to pieces in your hands!! I'm not the only one to have found this, my cousin had the same problem with her little girl and when i asked for other peoples opinion on a baby webiste i use i had loads of responses saying the same and worse! Even the supposed sensitive ones irritated my childrens delicate skin to the point that now, no matter how cheap they are or whatever offer they're on i wont use them full stop. I also had the same problem with a lot of the johnsons baby products ie bodywash bubble baths etc leaving my children with dry skin, so now tend to avoid anything from the johnsons range, as nice as their product smell its not fair on my children!
Having had kids of my own and now with grandchildren I have always stuck to Johnsons wipes.
Johnsons are reputable company for most of their products which tend to be aimed at babies and toddlers. They sell many things including their wipes obviously, creams and lotions, baby bubble baths and even body washes for babies.
Their aim is to be gentle for babies which is why I think I've always stuck to Johnsons. Even the packets they come in are gentle and pure looking in a pale baby pink with a baby on the top of the packet. To get into the packet you need to peel back the sticky tape but not peel it completely off as this then sticks back down to maintain the freshness of the wipes. However if this sticky tab does get dirty underneath it loses it's stickiness and doesn't keep the top few wipes fresh and they lose their moistness and become dry and useless.
The wipes themselves are quite thick, which I expected from a well known and respected brand. They are not too dry and not too wet either as I've found out with other wipes my daughters bought. She does not mind most brands of wipes but I havn't been impressed they don't live up to Johnson's standards I don't think.
The wipes hold enough moisture to wipe any messes yet not leave your babys bum too wet which can often be uncomfortable in a babies nappy and sometimes lead to nappy rash.
These I find are so gentle they do not hurt my grandsons bums if they do have a nappy rash due to teething, they are often nervous to have their bums wiped if they are suffering with nappy rash but when I use these I can feel their bodies loosen up and relaxing as they do not hurt them a bit.
They have a clean and fresh scent .. smells just like a freshly cleaned baby so innocently pure. It is not an overpowering scent it is just right.
You can buy these in supermarkets and places such as Boots or Superdrug, sometimes in multipackets or on their own for roughly £2.44 or more, more often than not they are on offer buy one get one free so a perfect time to stock up.
I bought loads of Johnson's wipes when I was pregnant to get them ready for when I had my little boy. They are quite pricey compared to the supermarket own brands (£2.50 ish) but they are quite often on buy one get one free. Also the big 4 pack of wipes is a bit better value. After spending far too long choosing which to try my husband suggested get one of all the varieties (sensitive etc.) and go from there. Good idea!
After my son was born I opted for the sensitive variety because it had less smell and seemed to have less ingredients. They were great, made easy work of sticky situations and explosive breast fed poo. Unlike other varieties I found it easy to pull out just one rather than one long mess of stuck together wipes.
But all good things come to an end my son started having a reaction to them where his behind would go bright red although I had poured boiling water on it. I stopped using them and went back to the pain in the neck cotton wool and water. We haven't been able to use them since and I am still trying to find a brand of wipes to use when we are out and about, they all seem to have the same huge list of ingredients - the search goes on!
Johnson's hold a large portion of the baby skin care sector in the united kingdom and in Europe! They are a well known and trusted brand. One of the main slogans for the company is no more tears; this is printed on much of their products. Johnson's baby wipes come in packets of 64 wipes in a pink pack, i have only ever purchased them when they have been on offer - i got lots of boxes of 6 packs of wipes for five pounds from Asda during their baby weeks, it is much cheaper then buying them individually - i think that they are about 2.50 a pack if you get them form a shop when they are not on offer so this would soon add up. The wipes are strong and quite large compared to other wipes. They are very good at both types of nappies; I find that as they are soo big you need to use less of them then the other leading brand of wipes.
When I had my daughter I was advised just to use cotton wool on her bum as it was gentle however I used wipes from very early on and she is nearly a year old and has not yet had nappy rash so they are very gentle on her skin.
The wipes are very soft and seem to be quite strong, i use them for everything, my baby, house work - they clean the windows really well and i also use them at the end of the day to take my make up off - they smell very nice - it is a light smell but it is lovely especially on babies' skin. I will defiantly be looking out for the offer again
I find that as the wipes are available i use them, i could use other more environmentally friendly options such as cloths that can be washed and reused so in terms of environmental impact it is not good to be using them all the time however they are very easy and when you have a new born baby ease is very important!
