I wear makeup every day and I can grab these from my local Home Bargains store for only £1 for 80 wipes. These wipes are actually baby wipes but that didn't put me off using them to remove my make-up. I've used these for a while now and never been disappointed with how good they are - they are thin but they never rip and they have a good amount of moisturiser in them to stop them from drying out. Honestly the great thing about these wipes is that they are great for pretty much anything even for your house work! I often use these when I am cleaning my bedroom (still live with my parents) they clean so well and leave the surface of anything looking clean again. As they are large wipes you don't have to use many and they last you a good while too. So for £1 total bargain.
Now that my daughter is older I buy whatever baby wipes are on offer. I picked these up in Tesco they were £1 a packet the usual price is around £2.49. In a packet you get 80 wipes this makes these wipes better value than others which usually have around 56.
The packet is a green in colour and features tatty teddy the blue nosed bear from the from me to you range. There is pink writing on the wipes stating that they contain aloe vera, chamomile and added moisturisers. The wipes are described as being gentle and suitable for even newborn skin. The wipes don't contain any added chemicals and no perfume or colour.
The wipes have a sticky label which you use to reseal them. You are advised to use the wipes within 30 days of opening them I have to be honest I have never had a pack last this long. The sticky seal is very sticky and the wipes stayed moist for the week or so I had the packet.
The first time we ever used these wipes I found them to be very thick, they are also a decent size. The wipes have a nice scent even thought they are described as unperfumed. We use wipes for cleaning sticky hands and faces and I have found them to be really good for this task. My daughter manages to get so sticky at times and the wipes removes this stickiness without drying out her skin. I have also used these to remove my make up and I have found them to be really gentle. They are also tear free so ideal for removing eye make up without stinging the eye area.
Overall I found these wipes to be good value. You get a lot in the packet for the money and they are handy for cleaning little people on the go!
As you will see from previous reviews I am gradually working my way through my stock pile of baby stuff which I collected before Jayden was born, this ranged from nappies, wipes, cotton wool and various other essentials that we would need. One thing which we do get through a lot of is baby wipes and before Jayden was born I purchased a lot of packets of these whilst they were on offer and also with different coupons I was sent, I didn't stick to one brand and was happy to buy a variety of brands just in case one variety didn't suit him. One variety of baby wipes I ended up with were Simpl Baby Moisturising Wipes, these happened to be on offer at the time and having used Simple products myself in the past I knew that they would be of a good quality as well as gentle on his skin.
The Simple Baby Wipes come in a pale green plastic oblong packet, pretty much the same as most packets of wipes you can buy. There is a white oval shape in the middle of the packet on the top, it is on this oval that the clear strip is that you peel back to remove the wipes from inside. Also written across the white oval is the name of the product Simple Baby Moisturising Wipe, this is in green and pink. There is further information about the wipes written just below this. On the front of the packet there are various bits of information about the wipes as well as a pink strip which goes around the packet, sat on the strip is a picture of Tiny Tatty Teddy with his name and logo written just underneath him, it was Tiny Tatty Teddy that drew my attention to these wipes, purely because that is the theme in Jayden's bedroom. The back of the packet is the same pale green colour and again is covered with various bits of information about the wipes including what they do, what they are suitable for and the ingredients. The clear strip on top of the packet is re-sealable to help keep the wipes moist and to prevent them from drying out.
The simple Baby Wipes are plain white and of a decent size, to be honest they look like most of the other baby wipes I have tried so far, however these do have added benefits. The wipes and contain chamomile they are described as being soothing on your baby's skin. For me these wipes were ideal as they are suitable for newborn babies so I was able to use these on Jayden right from the start, these wipes are also described as having a no tears formula, are hypoallergenic and alcohol free meaning that they will be gentle on your baby's skin. The Simple Baby Wipes are as the name suggest pH balanced and moisturising, on the back of the packet the wipes are described as having Simple Goodness which includes
* No perfume, colours, unnecessary ingredients or harsh chemicals
* They contain Pro Vitamin B5 which softens and soothes your baby's skin
* They contain Chamomile oil which will sooth delicate skin
Directions for Use
The Simple Baby Moisturising Wipes can be used for a variety of things either during nappy changes, feeding times or even just to take out with you to keep your baby clean and fresh. There are actual directions for use on the back of the packet which state that you open the packet and remove the wipes, unfold the wipe and gently cleanse your baby's skin. Ensure the packet is resealed to prevent the wipes drying out and dispose of the used wipes in the bin, you should not flush them down the toilet. This is all pretty self explanatory but information which needs to appear on the packaging.
Again the warnings appear on the back of the packet and state that you should avoid contact with eyes, should this happen you simply rinse with clean water. The warnings also state that you should keep this product out of reach of children.
Price and Availability
Simple Baby Moisturising Wipes are available in most supermarkets and shops such as Superdrug and Boots. I purchased my packet of wipes from my local Tesco and the pack of 80 wipes cost me at the time just £1.00 as they were on offer, however at full price they are sold for just over £2.00. When I purchased them they were extremely good value for money, however I would still be prepared to purchase them at full price as you do get a lot of wipes for your money, also each wipe is of a decent size so you can get away with using less wipes at a time when compared to some of the smaller ones.
I have been using the Simple Baby Moisturising Wipes on Jayden for a little while now, I actually started off using them to wipe his face with after feeds or if we were out to freshen him up and so on as he did have quite dry skin on his face and as these were described as being soothing moisturising I thought they would be ideal and would not dry his skin out any more, however I do now also use them when changing his nappy. I have been extremely pleased with the wipes so far, since using them on his face his skin is a lot better and hardly dry at all, the wipes were gentle on his skin and left not strong fragrances behind, they effectively cleansed his skin and left it feeling fresh. I was happy to use these on his face and hands etc as they contain no alcohol or harsh chemicals and I knew they would be gentle.
As well as being of excellent quality and very effective at cleaning your baby's skin whether its after feeds or during a nappy change, the Simple wipes are also excellent value for money, the wipes are of a good size which means I have found my pack of 80 wipes has proved to be long lasting. Although it was the Tiny Tatty Teddy that drew me to this product I am glad I decided to give them a go. I often take my packet of Simple Baby Moisturising Wipes out with me for emergencies so if I had to mention one disadvantage it would be the size of the packet, it is quite large meaning they are a little bulky to carry around with you, it would be ideal if they could come in a smaller and more condensed packet for travelling. I would certainly recommend these to anyone and will definitely be purchasing them in the future.
This is a review of Simple Me to You Baby Wipes, which after trying almost every brand on the market I can say are my favourite wipes. It's sad when you have a favourite brand of baby wipe but I suppose it's all part of being a parent. I went through a phase of buying store's own brand but realised I was using five times as many to clear up mess or change a nappy so it was a bit of a false economy.
What are they?
The baby wipes come in packs of 80 wipes and are made by the well known facial cosmetics company Simple. They are a green pack and for some reason, the brand Simple have teamed up with the me to you tatty teddy bears for some branding on this packet. I once thought they might be a limited edition but I have been buying them for more than a year now.
The pack claims to have no tears formula which is important as we use these wipes to clean hands and faces as well as for nappy changes. They are alcohol free and hypoallergenic and suitable for even newborn babies. A note here. I would follow the midwives advice on this one and only use cotton wool or flannels with warm water for cleaning newborns. We did this for the first couple of months with our baby and she has beautiful skin. I tried not to use any products on her for as long as possible. The pack says that the wipes have natural chamomile goodness to sooth baby's delicate skin.
So why are they my favourite?
I'm not bothered about the packaging, so don't think I've fallen for the tiny tatty teddy's charms. Green's not really my colour either so it wasn't that! The pack uses the same clear sticker seal to keep the wipes fresh. I grabbed my first pack of these wipes in a bit of an emergency moment, my daughter was sick in the shop down herself and I had left the bag in the car so I grabbed a pack (in Home Bargains) and used them then and there and then paid for the opened pack at the till. I was hooked from then on. What I found about these wipes is that they are nice and moist and really do a good job cleaning up. I tend to only use one on face and hands and a couple for a nappy change (unless it's a really bad one). When we get towards the end of the pack we decant the remainder into a travel wet wipes box (for keeping handy in the highchair basket) and get a new pack out for the bag so we don't run out.
I have seen a pack of these baby wipes priced as much as £3.99 in some supermarkets but there is no way I'd pay that! We get all ours from Home Bargains for 99p a pack and I am happy with that price.
We do still use other brands like Johnson's but the Simple wipes are my favourite for keeping in the changing bag when we are out and about. They stay very moist (but not dripping wet) and have no strong smell and seem to suit our daughter's skin.
