“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Toilet Wipes „
When I started potty training my son, it took alittle time for him to do a ' number 2 ' in the big toilet. He loved using the potty to wee in but would never do anything else and simply would refuse. And when he did need to do anything else I had to put his nappy back on.I was hoping the excitement of going to the big toilet would make him want to use it for more than weeing but the same issue happened, and nappies still had to be used. Then one day a breakthrough occured when my son said he needed a 'poo ' and he wanted his nappy. I simply said ' no,go to the toilet.Mummy hasnt got any more nappies left ' and off he went ( with my help ) job done! After the inital joy of my sons ' first time ', I had a quick look around the supermarkets to see if there were any products out there that would be suitable for toddler/young children to use on their bottom, rather than normal toilet tissue as I felt it was too harsh, yet it wasnt practical to use cotton wool pads and water as I did when I changed him after each nappy.I had no idea that toddler wipes existed and was pleasantly surprised how cheap they were ( currently 70p for 60 sheet pack in Tesco ). And we have been using them ever since. What are these? The best way I can describe these are that they are the middle product between baby wipes and toilet tissue. They are designed to be comfortable, easy to use for both parents and child and effective at cleaning the bottom area. Great partner for potty training. How are the packaged? 60 fragrance free toilet wipes are contained in a plastic packet. The front of the packet has a clear plastic small cover that when pulled back you can access the wipes, as a small hole is exposed. With ease you can stick down the plastic covering to close and keep tissues clean, hygenic and moist. The packet itself has different design as the picture on her, but equally as cute. There is a picture of a bumble bee flying in the sky and a horse stood on grass ( I think its a horse! ). Most of the colouring is green, which to me makes me automatically think this product is kind, sensitive to the skin and reasonably natural. All details in regards to ingredients, directs, expiry date, contact details for Tesco are clearly marked on the back. How to use? Remove wipe and wipe from back to front. Only flush one wipe down the toilet at a time. Make sure packet has seal firmly down to ensure wipes remain moist. So what do I think of this product? I think they are great. Its lovely to know there are two versions, this and the apple fragrance ( we have used both, apple smells lovely! ) But if in doubt, go with sensitive. I find the size of the wipes are perfect for little, and big hands, They are quite strong but soft at the same time and find them very easy to hold and use. My son isnt confident enough to wipe himself as yet but I dont think he will have an issue with these. The wipes dont leave the bottom area red, sore or dry. I find they provide some mositure to the bottom to keep it supple but not too much were I feel my son's behind is soaking wet. I would recommend these to anyone who has a child who is potty training or about to. It keeps them clean and doesnt irritate the skin at all. Its also a product that will aid independance and confidence to do this act themselves when ready.
I purchased Tesco My Toddler Toilet Wipes (fragrance free) for my Son and initially used them mainly as a potty training 'aid' in as much as they make it easier for my Son to wipe himself after being to the toilet as they are soft and moist to use. Also as he goes from one extreme to another, by either using one sheet of toilet roll to wipe himself or by using ¼ of a roll, at least by using the toilet wipes he only uses what he needs. Tesco 'My Toddler Toilet Wipes' cost 72p for a pack of 60 sensitive fragrance free toilet wipes. The wipes have been specially formulated for young children from 2 years and above. The toilet wipes are dermatologically approved, flushable, contain mild cleansers to keep your toddler clean and fresh and are ultra soft. They are also available in an Apple fragrance which is cheaper and costs 60p a pack, however I find that the fragrance is not pleasant and lingers. The toilet wipes are a lot smaller than your standard baby wipe and measure 10cm x 20cm. They aren't as wet as baby wipes but are good to use for little ones when they start going to the toilet by themselves. The pack has a re-sealable label on the front and even if not used for a few weeks the wipes still remain fresh and moist. I always carry a pack with me when out and about as the pack is less bulky to carry than normal baby wipes and can be used to clean hands, sticky fingers etc and have the bonus of being flushable. It was only until recently that I read the pack and it states that only one wipe can be flushed at a time. I have to admit that my Son will use a couple of wipes after using the toilet and we have been using these for almost a year and so far have had no problems with the toilet blocking. I can only assume that flushing too many at a time could lead to blocked toilets/drains, however as this has not yet affected us I am going to carry on saving water and money by not flushing after each wipe used. Also they are not suitable for use with macerator toilets. Overall I highly recommend purchasing Tesco My Toddler Toilet Wipes and they get 5 stars from me. They are reasonably priced at 72p a pack, easy for toddlers to use, stay moist in the pack and they help my Son to feel more independent by wiping his own bum.
