“ Brand: Zorbit / Type: Nappies „
Since it recently dawned on me that I am going to have 2 children wearing nappies in the very near future, I have been trying out terry squares on my toddler (due to not being able to afford to increase my supply of Mother Ease nappies). I bought the cheapest ones I could find, and what a mistake that was - they were so thin and very un-absorbent - but they were good for helping me practise the folding techniques.
So anyway, I did a bit of searching on the internet and found these Zorbit Terry Nappies, they come in two types - 'Supreme' and 'Popular' - both are 60x60cm, but the supreme is thicker. I chose the supreme version as I didn't want to end up with more pathetically thin nappies. Due to them being thicker, they are more expensive than the popular version; I paid £32 for a pack of 12 from Amazon (with my Dooyoo miles!!!).
So far I am very impressed with them, they are lovely and soft and a lot thicker than the first lot of Terries I bought. They are so nice in fact that I'm reluctant to use them or get them dirty! They look like nice fresh white towels and are soooo soft and fluffy, and I love wrapping up my daughter's bottom with them. They also hold their shape a lot better than cheaper versions once they have been washed - which is quite essential with all the folding going on.
You are always recommended to wash nappies a few times before using them, but I only washed mine once. Bits of fluff are appearing on my daughter's bottom in between changes but I don't see this as a problem and I know once the nappies have been washed a few more times, the excess fluff will disappear. (By the way I wash them at 40, 50 or 60 degrees, depending on the level of soiling, if you get what I mean...)
I dry them outside on the washing line and on a good day they can be dry in half a day or so. If I dry them on the airer inside it usually takes a couple of days, but I suppose once the heating is back on when Winter draws nearer, they will dry in no time if placed near the radiators.
Now onto absorbency - do they really work? Yes they do! My daughter can wear one without any sort of booster pad for 4 hours. Now this is amazing because with the cheaper Terries I had to boost them up with booster pads, folded up nappies, muslin squares, anything I could lay my hands on at the time, and they still didn't last for 4 hours before leakages occurred. So I am extremely pleased with these Zorbit ones and would recommend them to anyone wanting to try out terry nappies.
I think the price is very reasonable for what you get, and I am planning on buying another pack when my Dooyoo miles have reached target...
