TheWeaver Yangshuo: ... dozens of green mountains and hills, with emerald rivers and streams winding around them, sits the once quiet country town of Yangshuo. As more and more people stumble upon its existence, the sight of the Western chaos engine steamrolling over it s almost epic horizon comes ever closer, and it s hard to say how many years until tourism ruins this place. But onwards now, to the Yangsuo of the present! There are...

garymarsh6 Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
... Ho Chi Mein City, Saigon is the largest city in Vietnam covering an area of over 800 square miles and is situated right down in the South of the country just over 1000 miles from Hanoi the current capital. The climate of Saigon is very hot and humid for most of the year with an average temperature in the lower 30 s. The French recognised it as Saigon and when the Vietnamese took control of Hue the Emperor declared the city as the capital of Vietnam. During the French occupation of the country it was the capital until the North Vietcong forced the withdrawal of the Americans during the Vietnamese war when they over ran the City capturing it for the North in 197...

Autumnrose Hoover Dam
... my recent trip to Vegas we chose to make a day of going up to the dam driving across and parking and walking back across it to get the full experience as in just a short time the option to drive over the dam will no longer be part of the Hoover Dam experience. Just one of many things that have change since september 11th 2000. Wanting my daughter to experience things as I did when I was growing up it was important to me that we visit. It was quite breath taking. As we rounded the bend...

jennyf16 Los Angeles
... place on my must visit list when planning my round the world trip was Los Angeles. We arrived here late and tired after a 12 hours drive and weren t greeted very well at our hostel (but that s another story!). I had high expectations of LA, it s being the place of celebs and all that. We were staying on the Walk of Fame . It was really good walking down here looking out for celebrities stars and having your photos taken with them (sad, I know but I was a tourist!). Beyond this LA disappointed me. I had three days there and was ready to leave! I expected it to be happening with lots to do. We went out on St Patricks Day (the day nearly all Americans love) and i...
