Los Angeles:
... place on my must visit list when planning my round the world trip was Los Angeles. We arrived here late and tired after a 12 hours drive and weren t greeted very well at our hostel (but that s another story!). I had high expectations of LA, it s being the place of celebs and all that. We were staying on the Walk of Fame . It was really good walking down here looking out for celebrities stars and having yo... Read the full review: Not as glam as you think by jennyf16 |

Pompeii ... has heard of the ancient Roman city that lay at the foot of Mount Vesuvius and was completely buried by lava and ash when the volcano erupted in 79AD. It had been almost perfectly preserved for almost two thousand years before it was rediscovered in 1748 and is now one of the most popular tourist sites in Italy. I recently went on a cruise around the Mediterranean Sea, where the first port of call was Naples in Italy. There were many shore excursions on offer in the area but the one that my sister and I chose to go on was the tour of Pompeii and a trip up Mount Vesuvius in a 4x4 monster truck. Port El Kantaoui ... El Kantoui is a custom built holiday resort on the Tunisian coast abbout 6 miles North of Sousse. It is a posh suburb now with some beautiful but expensive houses and flats, for the wealthy residents. An imposing harbour and marina is the centrepiece of the town with good beaches on either side just a short walk away. It was fairly quiet when we visited because it was November and low season. To me the whitewashed hotels and apartments gave the centre a mediterranean feel. Most pedes... Read the full review: Port El Kantoui. I've Soussed this place out! Fuengirola ... went to Fuengirola a couple of years ago for a new year break with my partner. It was very cheap at just Ł180 self catering each. I didn t think that was too bad for the school holidays. The flights were with Ryanair and as always they were great. Malaga airport is quite a way from Fuengirola so we had hired a car. I was glad we did this as Fuengirola out of season is very quiet. The town itself is ok with a good shopping area and restaurant street. There is a good range of restaurants in the town centre serving many different kinds of food. Most have some kind of set menu for around 10 euros. This town is lacking in charm somewhat but a short drive into the mounta... Read the full review: Fuengirola out of season by nigelcross |
