Advantages: Some cool stuff to see

Disadvantages: Not a good place to live.

Where am I talking about? Abilene Kansas, of course. Burial place to Dwight D. Eisenhower. To us citizens of Abilene, there's not much to do, there never is when you already did everything there is to experience.

However, for those tourists out there, Abilene has a bit to offer. You might want to pull a weekend at the Motel 8, located on the main street of Buckeye, in the North part of town, to experience all that there is here.

Seeley Mansion:
Also located on Buckeye, is a big mansion. It's open for tours, and plays a big part of Abilene history. If visiting Abilene, you might want to really think about giving this place a visit.

Lebold-Vasholtz Mansion:
Another mansion, that plays a real big part of Abilene history. This mansion was open to tours, I'm not sure if it is now. It has in it's basement, the dugout to the first house in Abilene.

Kirby House:
Mansion turned into a fancy resteraunt. This resteraunt is located near the southern part of town. It's a very fancy, and superb resteraunt. If you come to Abilene, this resteraunt is definitely worth a stop by, for dinner.


Dwight D Eisenhower Center & Musuem:
This is a worth a definite visit. The Dwight D. Eisenhower Center & Musuem features: A video on Dwight, the burial place of Dwight, childhood home of Dwight, and a musuem that has history on world war 2, Dwight, and his family.

Sports Hall Of Fame:
If you're interested in sports, you can stop by the sports hall of fame. It's free of charge, and offers some cool info. Also had some famous people visit it. So you never know, you could visit, and end up going home with a autograph of a famous sports player!
