With the recession many people are opting to go to non eu countries and Egypt seems to be more popular than ever. *Weather* HOT! HOT! HOT! *Hotel* We stayed at the 4 star Tropitel Naam...

... was my first ever holiday abroad in 2008 and I will try to provide you with as much information as I possibly can.. Sharm El Sheikh is definitely an upcoming new holiday spot, with more and more people visiting it each year. It is sometimes considered as North Africa or the Middle East due to it s location but it definitely is Africa. Located in Southern Sinai on the Gulf of Aqaba, it s roots are that of a small fishing village. It began development in 1982 and is continuing today, you will notice that it is about half way there in terms of development. It contains the following sub towns, Nabq Bay, Ras Um Sid, Ras Mohammed, Na ama Bay and a couple more I cannot r...

... went to Sharm El Sheikh 27/08/2009 - 10/09/2009. We booked this holiday a year in advance as Thomas Cook was promoting a special "egyptian week". £650 per person for two weeks in a 4* holiday (incl breakfast). This has definately been one of my most favourite holiday locations. - Egypt Egypt is a very hot country. We visited in late August when it was supposed to start cooling (apparently). It was 40 degrees ++ & evenings were often 30-34. Stepping off the plane I nearly fainted! At the airport prepare to queue, you have to fill in medical forms and also at the time we had to declare any symptoms relating to Swine Flu. You may need to purchase a visa fo...

... about 20 minutes which was fun but there was not much scenery just going round and round in circles. We went to Banana Island one night on an excursion with our hotel which was a special little Egyptian party with Egpytian themed food, decorations and dancers. The shisha came out too, which is very popular in Egypt and alot of North African countries. A shisha is a pipe whereby you smoke flavoured tobacco with. Apparently it is harmless? Hmm. Something you must do in Luxor is ride a horse and carriage, well its only a matter of time before you are forced on one anyway (by the locals). Just go with it, its fun! Hassle You definately get alot of hassle in Luxor and...
