Advantages: Lovely beach

Disadvantages: Unfriendly locals, bad weather, nothing to do

I stayed in Albena with my boyfriend in 2004 and was the worst holiday I have every been on. We went in early June and the weather was terrible.

The hotel we stayed in a was perfectly fine, but we hated the resort, sadly.

I must say, the beach was fantastic - long and sandy, and really beautiful.

Our hotel was in the hills, which meant we had to walk down god knows how many steps to get into the resort. So we were shattered by the time we got there.

We found there was very little to do in the evenings and ended up in bed fairly early every night. The bars were quiet and very lifeless, and there just seemed very little to entertain.

One particular thing we found annoying was the constant hassling from some young girls from a "sex club" asking ME (female!) to come to their club every night!

I must also mention there are prostitutes in the resort, although harmless and quite friendly, they are still there.

We also found the local people to be very rude and ignorant compared to other holiday resorts.

We found the resort was mainly geared towards different nationalities and there were hardly any British there - maybe that's why we didn't enjoy it here.

We wouldn't ever go back to Albena or Bulgaria after our experience sadly.

Summary: Not my cup of tea, there was little to do and the locals let it down
