Perfect out of Season Destination (Algarve)

Advantages: Excellent value for money

Disadvantages: busy in summer

My wife and I always have a week in Europe out of Season at the beginning of the year to try and blow the winter cobwebs away.

One of our favourite destinations is the Algarve , principally Albufeira or Vilamora , very contrasting but both excellent choices.

Vilamora has a fantastic Harbour with Bars and Restaurants overlooking , excellent for sitting and lazying around , watching the world go by.

Many fabtastic Golf Courses in close proximity , so get those clubs packed.

Albufeira is superb for walking , meandering cliffs make daily walks interesting and exhausting. Fish restaurants downtown Albufeira offer excellent value food.

Bars and clubs in Montechoro / The Strip , just outside Albufeira offer excellent value. When we went out of season , a pint of local beer < £1. Not the best quality drink but excellent for getting drunk.

Overall and excellent value for money destination for an out of season holiday. I understand in summer though that Albufeira can get a little manic.
