Almeria (Andalusia) ... and all its area is an important Mediterranean resort. The name "Almería" stems from Al-Mariyat: "The Mirror of the Sea", in Arabic. Its Moorish castle, Alcazaba, is the second largest among the Muslim fortresses of Andalusia after the Alhambra.

Over the next few days, we visited just a handful of places but most of them were seriously memorable for one reason or another. Here's my "don't miss" list. 1. The Teterie Al-Medina. Premium Review Almeria (Andalusia): A long weekend (and Easter!) in Almeria (1198 words)

I visited this area with my partner last year. Purely by chance. It went like this: i hate the cold, by January in the UK I'm going crazy. Round about that time every year, i go onto the website of Ryanair or one of their equally hateful budget airline brethren, grit my teeth, and work out how far south i can fly for a minimal budget. It could've been a disaster...looking around on the web, i couldn't find much mention of things to do there at all, and i was starting to wonder if i'd signed up for a trip to a waste ...  Read the complete review

Hopefully, you will agree that these issues have now been addressed satisfactorily. ***** This guide is intended to help you get the very best out of your trip to Tabernas and the ...  Read the complete review

A pretty cove and a beautiful walk near San José Spain If you read my other ops you will know I love wildlife and we went on holiday to San José in Almeria Spain this Easter hols. This is a description of one of the best bays/beaches we found and a good coastal walk. We used the tourist hiking map Capo de Gata-Nijar (1:50.000 same scale as an standard OS map here) which we bought from the tourist information in San José, it comes with an accompanying book about the routes marked on the map. It also contained information about camping, apartments and other local information in Spanish. Dearly beloved can read some Spanish and I found I could follow a lot of ...  Read the complete review
