Argentinia is a country with an identity problem. Wherever you go you will be reminded that Argentina is not like other South American nations, the average Argentinian seems to vew there country as an outpost of Europe that has somehow been towed away in the night and left there.

This causes an interesting combination of nationalist posturing (that never seems quite dangerious) and a self hatred whenever they are forced to realise there true location. This is an uncomfortable combination for the locals but even more uncomfortable for the poorer neighbours of the country. Nations that have something to prove oftain altinate between a desire to impress and a desire bring 'superior' nations down a peg. This may seem sad, but in we are a little like this in the UK as well. Think of the way we react to the USA sometimes. We are desperate for our actors and musicians to be aproved of in the USA yet we resent US influence in our public life. Multiply this twentyfold and you have some idea if how they feel.

Summary:
