ArizonaNewest Review: ... of a laid back college town since most of the residents there attend Northern Arizona University (NAU). There is also a brewery called "beavery street brewery" which does serve some good beer. Then we travel south to Phoenix, the heart of the state. There is everything you want here, and you'll rarely be bored. The weather is hot during the summers and warm during the winters. ... more |

Arizona is a very amazing state. You can see forrests with cold weather up north, and can experience the hot desert land in the central and souther parts of the state. Most people think that ALL of Arizona is just one big desert, but they are mistaken. There are three main cities in Arizona; Flagstaff in the north, Phoenix in the center, and Tucson in the South. Flagstaff is a rather small city, but does have some attractions. It is only an hour away from the Grand Canyon, so it is a nice town to stay in if you are going up there to take the tour of the canyon. Flagstaff is more of a laid back college town since most of the residents there attend Northern ... Read the complete review

This review is about Southern Arizona. The Sonoran desert extends through Southern Arizona and is nothing short of spellbinding. Far from barren, it is full of life. Thorny bushes, super-spiked cacti, mesquite and palo verde trees all provide a sense of lushness unparalleled by any other desert on earth. Canyons, mountains and open plains give a sense of space stretching out far further than you could walk in a week. Animal life includes lizards, snakes, scorpions, spiders, small and large cats, coyotes, rabbits, desert mice... The Saguaro cactus lives here in patches - the most famous of all cacti, grows taller than two-storey houses at their peak and ... Read the complete review

I have toured the state from Tucson in the south to the Grand Canyon in the north and love the diversity of this state. Arizona is probably most famous for being the Grand Canyon state, but there is far more to Arizona than a big hole in the ground! Arizona has numerous national parks all well worth a visit. I have managed to visit quite a few now and thought I?d take you on a tour of a few of my favourites, hope you enjoy it! But before we set off here?s a few useful things to know about the state. If you are planning to travel from the U.K it is possible to get a ... Read the complete review

I've travelled through out all of the western states of the USA and find Arizona the most endearing. There is everything here except the sea. There are mountains, deserts and obviously canyons. If you like the small town feel, then I can recommend Flagstaff. Flagstaff is the nearest town to the Grand Canyon and so is a stop off but often not much more to many people. However, it is quite a nice place and quite different from the strip and sprawl of most of the western towns. Us Brits could almost feel at home there, if they didn't serve you Fish and Crisps when you ask for Fish and Chips (I kid you not). Can I recommend the Motel Super 8, fantastic, 28 ...
