One Day In Augsburg My birthday on 20th January was a day of woe, Iīm still trying to come to terms with it. It was a so-called round one which makes friends and acquaintances expect they will be invited to a big party. A party, though, was the last thing I was thinking of, I even didnīt want to have some women friends with me with whom I always have a cuppa and some cake when itīs birthday time. ... seems to be one of the oldest German cities. As I was told they are in heavy competition with the place Trier situated close to the Luxembourg border, about to win the laurels of being the oldest settlement in German's territory. Surrounded by a lot of forests the town itself offers a nice looking city centre with rather narrow lanes reminding of medieval times. There are quite a lot of museums e.g. the Romisches Museum about history of the Roman times, the Maximilianmuseum concerning the Middle age when the Fugger family was powerful, and even a planetarium.
