Advantages: Beautiful beaches....amazing nightlife

Disadvantages: maybe a little too hot for little ones

I'm afraid I can't write a totally balanced review having only spent 2 days and 1 night in Napa but I would like to share my experience there.

I came to Cyprus for a week long holiday staying with my friend who lives there in Nicosia and we took a road trip to Napa on the Saturday.

Napa is a few hours drive, my friend's car had no air conditioning and the temperature was 30 degrees+ so on arrival we went directly to Nissi Beach. I was truly amazed; I have never seen anything like it. The beach was packed - beautiful white sand and the sea was beautiful, turquoise and so clear, no seaweed (which I loathe) stones or crabs! The bay is very shallow, no more than waist deep and very warm, perfect for families with young children or just lazing in the sea There were lots of families and groups of lads/girls but it was rather quiet considering the amount of people there. There were sun beds/umbrellas available to hire and plenty of bars/restaurants too. Off a small jetty there were water sports too - plenty of jet skis', banana boats, pedaloes etc. Unfortunately we could only stay there for a few hours as we had to head into town for something to eat and to book our apartment for the night.

Noone goes out until late in Cyprus as with many other European countries, so we headed out at around midnight to the main square. It was absolutely heaving! I have never seen so many bars/clubs in one place before - I obviously haven't lived! There were lots of people giving out flyers trying to lure people into their respective bars. We went to the Titanic bar, which plays quite dancy music, not really my kind of thing but they had an outside bar so we sat outside listening to the music and people watching - believe me, there were a lot of strange sights, mainly involving hen/stag parties. Everyone was in a party mood and I didn't see any trouble at any point that night.

We then headed to Carwash to party the rest of the night away. What a funky place, great cheesy music from 70-present, people dancing on bars, the music was great all night, we made it until 5am then hungry, sweaty and worn out from so much dancing we staggered back to the apartment.

The next day saw us rise early due to the heat...the air con was dripping and drove us all mad so we turned it off. There was only one thing for it.....beach, and a 15 minute drive away we headed to Fig Tree Bay. Again it was very crowded yet quiet. The water still the same perfect blue and so clear. The nearest café/snack bar was a short walk away up some steps on the cliff as were the nearest loos. Water sports were available too as were sun loungers but we opted for towels on the ground and there we stayed pretty much all day recovering from a great night out the night before.

To sum it up, the beaches are perfect for families with children of all ages, and the nightlife was fab, just wish we could have stayed a little longer....maybe next year!

Summary: good time was had by all - from beach to club!
