BahamasNewest Review: ... are some beautiful beaches to be found. Paradise island has a few quieter beaches to be found, but steer clear of Cable beach if you want solitude. My absolute favourite place I visited in the Bahamas was Great Inagua - which is furthest south, north of Cuba. Matthew Town is the capital and we were the only tourists here when we visited. The Bahama's makes up around 700 islands. The main island being New Providence with it's capital Nassau. It is a fairly small island, less than 30 miles long. Nassau is full of tourists, mainly Americans and many cruise ships arriving daily mean that if you are out and about, you may become lost amongst the tanned skin and hair brading of the tourists. That aside, there are some beautiful beaches to be found. Paradise island has a few quieter beaches to be found, but steer clear of Cable beach if you want solitude. The Bahamas conjures up thoughts of tropical beaches. Before actually going this was all I actually knew about the place itself. I wasn't even sure where it was if I'm honest. It wasn't my place of choice for a holiday. My brother and his girlfriend decided to get married here so it would have been rude not to go wouldn't it?!?! ***THE ISLANDS*** The Bahamas is made up of over 700 islands and cays scattered in the Atlantic. They stretch across 100, 000 square miles from Florida to Cuba and Haiti. Bimini is only 50 miles off the East Coast of Florida. Some of these islands are tiny so its not surprising that only 100 of the islands are ... Read the complete review

This morning when I woke up I decided to forgo underwear in favour of a bikini. It's hidden under my work suit, but I know it's there, sitting on my tan lines, acting as a very definite reminder of where I was just a few days ago. I booked a trip to the Bahamas as a birthday present to myself, and as a way to celebrate the end of my summer in the US. Made up of dozens of individual islands, the Bahamas is slightly off the east Florida coast, and as such enjoys pretty decent weather all year round. I went in summer because that was when I was over on this continent, but this is generally marketed as the time to avoid because of the potential hurricane risk. As it ... Read the complete review

Ok, I thought I would try and brighten up this dull December day by writing about my holiday destination 2001! Back in July I went in search of THAT beach - you know the one – the white sands, crystal clear waters, palm trees, secluded – the one that appears in any brochure for the Caribbean. A few years ago I went in search for it in the Dominican Republic but came home sadly disappointed. This time I struck lucky! Anyway before I rant on about the beaches I had better give you some background info! BASICS ~~~~~ The Bahamas lie about 40 miles off the coast of Florida and consist of more than 750 islands – obviously most of these are ... Read the complete review

I have just recently returned back from the bahamas as a honeymoon destination. The island that we were situated on was Nassau, this being predominatly a tourist destination. We stayed at the nassau beach hotel which is situated on Cable beach. Now you know exactly where we were staying I can get on telling you a little about the experinence that we had while over there. One thing to be warned is that the bahamas is mostly geard towards the Americans as for them it as easy for them to go their as it is for us to hop the channel to France. By this i mean commercial big chain restarants, Macs, Sbarro, BKing, Burger bars. I think you know what i mean. ... Read the complete review
